If Tampa Bay misses the playoffs and they fire Cooper does Stan or the next GM go after him in the off season. I would think that there would be a few job openings available (including Seattle) so Coop could pick and choose the opportunity he deems best for him. The more I think about, he'll probably opt to coach elsewhere.

1. You trade Lehner if the plan is to rebuild. He’s not a rebuild goaltender, he should be on a contender and with him being only a rental, would fetch a king’s ransom at the deadline. We are talking top prospect and a first round pick.

2. I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Saad. He’s a useful player and I think he also gets a nice return in a deadline deal.

3. The team is going to have a very difficult time in a rebuild because of the prohibitive marketing and consumer side of things. McD can’t market ‘rebuild’ and there are no players to sell with advertising revenue in a rebuild like that, nobody proven.

4. I’m not sold Colliton is the issue so much as Colliton with the vets is an issue. He’s done pretty well with most of the kids. If the Hawks do rebuild, I think JC stays.

5. That being said, if the Hawks do rebuild, Stan has to go. Way too many bad trades, bad calls.

Maybe I missed something. Exactly which of the young players are thriving under JC?
DCat has 2 good years, 1 under Q & 1 under JC, and Strome had a solid 2nd half last year.

Forsling sucked, got traded, KK has shown little improvement, Kubiak has been ok in spurts. Kampf? Who am I missing who’s been good under JC?

And JC seemed to sour on the best young defensemen on the roster, and shipped him to BUF, for another young guy that’s done almost nothing.

JC sucks with both vets and young players.

i rarely question motivation/effort...but WTF after the beatdown in the last two games you would think a response or strong effort would be automatic...

they look and play totally disinterested again tonight...yeah they got defensive problems but their offensive weapons are healthy but they can barely get the puck out of the dzone let alone attack...

They can’t control the puck getting into the ozone - can’t make the quick passes to move the puck thru the neutral zone, no puck control in the ozone.
