JC is by no means blameless in this current mess, but he lost the last (very public) power struggle with those vets and everyone up and down that roster knows it. Did he lose the respect for good, then? |

Got to think McD is fuming right now. The question is what he is going to do about things. - boilermaker100
Quit, he's the first one who should be axed, but of course, won't be. |

There experienced Cup winners on this team who need to take charge of this team - and not just one or two - Kane, Toews, Keith (yeah, injured(, Seabrook (who many think should be captain), Crawford.
These guys should have the complete respect of everyone on the teams - time for them to take over, lead this team - they know how to play winning hockey - even if the skills of a couple of them have eroded - they need to show the rest what it takes. - StLBravesFan
A couple of them? You can't take over when you no longer have the skills..sinking in quick sand. |

the silence of bowman and mcd has been very curious...
you fire JC then you have to fire stanbow....you can not change coaches early 2 seasons in a row with out the gm going also... - bogiedoc
Yeah but when do you fire McD? Until that happens, nothing else matters. |

Debatable. I'd say it's a coin flip between that and trading Espo, Hodge and Stanfield and only getting back Pit Martin (essentially). Was a Martin fan as a kid but that deal is just as franchise altering as letting Hull walk IMHO.
Or the Oyster trade. It's got to be on the conversation. - HawkintheD

No definitely he has blame, but he also has been stabbed in the back. He’s the HC, and he needs players who will help him make the team successful. Not a bunch headstrong ego’s who not want to play their way. The players are just as responsible and they think they are above prosecution because of the 3 cups and their popularity.
That’s why the core has to go, it’s time to move on. |

As for the question asked much earlier about whether Dach (no points in last 12 games) wanted to go to the World Junior Championships, I'll let you decide:
“I don’t think it was really up to me,” Dach said. “It’s the management’s choice, and whatever they say goes, so you don’t want to upset the boss.”
"Obviously World Juniors is pretty big in Canada and growing up it's always a thing you dream of doing. But at the same time, I've been focused on being with the Blackhawks and helping them win each and every night.” |

I’d put a lot of blame on JC. He is trying to run a defensive system with the wrong personnel. He also (or the front office) tried to implement a dump and chase system doesn’t suit the style of half the forwards. Sure the vets complained but a coach’s #1 job is to maximize player talent not force you players to play a system that doesn’t. Plus the system itself is complete garbage.
I’d also really like to know who didn’t want Joki here. He played while Q was here and then was benched and then sent down with JC. I doubt the front office soured on him. Nylander might be a good top 6 wing but he isn’t anything special. You don’t send a potential top 4 D for what will likely be an average top 6 point scorer who brings nothing else. |

This team is a complete joke, JC has no business being a head coach, his press conference afterwards showed through his comments he should not be coaching this team.
The only way JC IMO stays on to finish the season is because Chicago has nobody currently to take over as a interim head coach
Stan should be thrown out he created this team. |

Apparently, Boqvist hasn’t been released to play, either, Greenfield reports.
Seems to mean he’s here for the rest of the season - Gustafsson trade coming? |
