Sorry. I don't buy the whole Illuminati-like conspiracy with McD. He's a marketing guy more concerned with how cheaply he can get another shipping container of bobble-heads for his next promotion. - Rota's Rooter

I would do it slightly different. I would replace McDonough immediately with a hockey guy (Hextall), and let him evaluate the rest of the front office for the remainder of the year, and then make appropriate changes, similar to what the Flyers did last year. - LAHawk

An out-of-the-box and very solid approach - bring in top of house and let that person build instead of inheriting someone else's choices |

On the org chart sure. But if the manager has no clue as to how to do his staff's job how does he manage it?
I wouldn't be surprised it goes no further then making sure Stan has filled out his time sheet for the week. |

That trade doesn’t look good now and may never look good. Nylander showed some flashes at times, so all you can do is hope it all comes together for him at some point.
Would hate for him to do it elsewhere to the point this place is littered with posts about how we let Nylavendar get away, like we did with Oyster, Hino, Duclair, Jurco... - HawkintheD
All of the guys you listed had a pulse. Nylander, on the other hand, is totally useless -hope we never have to see him in the lineup again. He appears to be very skilled as long as no one is within 10 feet of him. I have not seen him win a puck battle once this season. |

On the bright side Tank-A-Thon has us at #4 and moving up fast. The wings have won 2 in a row and a couple teams just below us picked up points last night. |

Is that why when, he and Dach had a 2 on 2 he pulled up at the top of the circle to receive a pass and shoot?
He missed BTW. His only shot attempt in the last 2 games and he elects to take a low danger shot from 40 feet instead of driving to the net. |

Silver lining is that the games are finally affordable for most families and there are a lot of kids who might get to see their favorite players live. It's just too bad what they'll see on the ice may not live up to expectations. |

Hockey Ops reports to him. - mohel
Unless a former player or GM owns the franchise, hockey ops had to report to someone outside of the hockey savants.
This whole “McDonaugh is the evil suit” is overblown - and has been, in my opinion - a smart executive who is largely responsible for much of the increase in cash flow and the value of the franchise - too smart, IMO, to over-meddle in the on-ice product, smart enough to realize that in hockey (unlike with the Cubs) you have to sell wins and losses - you can’t sell beautiful Wrigley Field and “get drunk with Harry on a summer afternoon”....
I’m putting the roster issues strictly on Stan and his professional scouts and talent evaluators, I’m putting the sloppy and disorganized play on Colliton and his staff - AND on the core in the room who should be doing more to lead by example and by exhortation....
But - I could be wrong. Although I keep asking for sources, and not seeing many / any. |

Was it an egregious brain fart, cowardice, or not knowing that he had other options? One would assume they go over this in practices? He routinely draws up along the boards, avoiding play in the center ice area. Jury is still out on him. But, there is no question, that offensive coordinators have not been doing their job. If, on the other hand, he was simply sleepwalking, he doesn't deserve to be on the parent club. Colliton' post game remarks on him, were beyond absurd. Totally lame and inexcusable.

This team is a complete joke, JC has no business being a head coach, his press conference afterwards showed through his comments he should not be coaching this team.
The only way JC IMO stays on to finish the season is because Chicago has nobody currently to take over as a interim head coach
Stan should be thrown out he created this team. - Taylorst1
Stan definitely should be gone before Colliton, he brought him on board and signed to multi year contract without any proof he could successfully coach in NHL, or successful stint at least as assistant coach somewhere.
Keep Colliton for this season, ship Lehner out, since Detroit win a few games maybe we will get last place and decent chance at Lafreneire, then new GM can start rebuild.
The other day was watching Buffaly play Oilers, and Jokarju was trusted to do PK against McDavid and Drai duo. Oilers did not score and Buffalo did not give big chances on that PK. Another trade that hurts. Rebuild, trades and drafting should start with new GM.

Good questions. I think Seabs isn't quick enough, Kane is fine, Keith still pretty good, Toews seems preoccupied. But those are guesses because I'm not there.
I was not a fan of whining to the principal that the teacher is being mean to us. I wouldn't have thought those guys would do that. You're getting paid big money - play your ass off in whatever system the team wants. - mohel
Can’t argue with any of that. Do the 3 cup vets want to listen t a guy who is pretty much the same age with far less experience at the NHL level? That has to be hard to accept and do no matter the job. |

Don't know. Pat and Eddie were baffled (I know, doesn't take much). Dach looked confused prior to making the pass. He thought Nylander was going to keep going forward.
Nylander was probably so confident in his shot that he thought he could beat the goalie from that far out. |

I think this is accurate. I think, though, that he would know if a rebuilding was going on and would've approved (with Rocky's input and agreement) of it. I think he'd have to decide if Stan's plan is viable and that Stan could pull it off. Or else Stan would've been out with Q. If McD is smart, he's gotten to know some outside hockey people to advise him on whether Stan is up to the task. |

Sounds eerily similar to Shmaltz. Uh-oh. We don't know how to develop talent? That could be a major concern, if true.
