im sure if botts had someone willing to give him a 6th straight up for him he would do it for the cap relief so he can look at upgrades up front - SabresFaninIndiana
Devils, Jets, Islanders, Avs and Jax can take his contract outright. I can't imagine a single one of them would be willing to. Jax and Devs have no use for a UFA, and he's too poopty with too big a cap hit for playoff teams like the Jets, Isles and Avs. Every other team will demand retention or a return in salary.

I lambasted you, for him being the "2c" in regards to brown being the 1c in Ottawa
You proved that websites had pageau on paper as the 2c, even though he clearly is outplaying the 1c
I apologized.
I think the idea is grand 😀
Pageau is now listed as #1c - Boss34
I'd be for it, cost of resigning dependent though.
Who is he really, at 27 in a contract year he is on pace to put up he has decided to turn in 40% better production than at anytime in his career.

Is he a 30, 35, 40 or 55 pt player?
Does 5 years at $5m do it? - IonSabres
I would think its he perfect situation.
-Maybe be trade an additional pick dependent on resigning as a ufa
-2c for the playoffs push
-see how he fits with skinny
- introduction to Ralph and buffalo in general
2nd and 3rd , maybe a cap dumper like bogo.
They could flip him ?
"PITTSBURGH -- Devlin "Duck" Hodges, who threw four interceptions during the Steelers' loss to the Buffalo Bills, will remain Pittsburgh's starting quarterback for another week, coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday.
Tomlin said he looks forward to giving the undrafted rookie an opportunity to rebound from his worst start.
"I think it's reasonable to expect growth from young players as they get exposure," Tomlin said. "Sometimes that exposure can be negative exposure, like his experience in the last game, but exposure nonetheless is a tool for growth."
Depends on what we are giving up for a player who might be gone after next season
I don’t think we’d be in position to sign him long term
And idk if we should even want to?
He’ll be turning 31 in the 1st year of his next deal - jdfitz77
Moves should be made to secure the playoffs for this year and next while Dahlin is on his ELC. At some point success needs to be now instead of existing in some sort of nebulous future realm
A year and a half contract is kind of a perfect length, really
