I wonder too. I just don't know why someone would trade a goalie with an unknown prospect coming up behind an aging Lundquist. I could see the prospect being traded before Georgiev. - Aaron_85
Ilya Sestyorkin or something like that. Kid is apparently the real deal.
Edit: Igor Shestyorkin - same thing, ammirite Frenchy |

You need a new broker then lol. I see lots of debt free people. Or close to debt free people.
My friend lives in Bowmanville and I went trick or treating with him and his son. I made remarks on how many $70,000+ trucks were on his street. All of them spotless. I don't get it. - Aaron_85
broker was assigned by the fin inst that was "buying our business"... never talked to him before - or since.
its a little different in the states... brokers are really only paper pushers - most often with very narrow regions or coverage.
the whole auto/car/truck thing blows me a way... what people spend on vehicles is shocking.
now I like having a nice vehicle as much as the next guy... but for me its tradeoffs... if I can't afford a Maclaren... then I'm not going to be really happy with a BMW 330 am I?
I have such good fortune shopping for and finding really interesting vehicles that are 3-4-5 years old... where someone else has financed that depreciation.

A guy like clifford would be an upgrade over useless players like petan/timapoop/assber/goat/spezza. - Tumbleweed
Kind of have a feeling Kyle/Sheldon are going to purge a few of these boys soon.Wish we had a clap emo here. |

If you're in the States then yeah I don't really know how things work down there. Except my friend in Indiana bought a fricking mansion for like 300k which would have gotten diddly squat here.
I know a guy who got an Audi. 12 years old, an old man who used to be a CEO owned it. He had a bunch of cars and took good care of them but never drove them really so it was super good condition, low mileage. Plenty of good deals if you're looking.
I personally hate shopping for cars. |

only one who's definitely going is Petan... 'cause doing him a favor
Spezza is not getting traded - unless he asks - now that Babcock is gone he ain't asking
Goat - going nowhere - except perhaps Marlies
Timashov - see Goat
perhaps Johnsson or Kapanen... but I'm guessing that they want to keep Kapanen more

there are pockets - primarily those that used to be industrial and died - that have attractively priced real estate... the established areas are just as expensive without the same legislative protections as you have in Canada....
there are some great deals on water front property in the Carolinas - where you have front row seats to the next Hurricane.
but desirable locations in the States are expensive or very expensive - particularly if you want things like good schools.
I love shopping for cars... just do exactly what the media tells you NOT to do. Look at the all non-desirable models - at least the ones they label as non desirable. Start there.
and these days its easy - there are some many lease returns that are good cars - nicely depreciated.

I got myself a BMW e31 when it was 4.5 years old - 31K miles. That was in 2003. Haven't look for a car again for myself since then. |

Goat stays for backup purposes. Timashov could get us a 2nd rounder perhaps. If not, a third. Really like our third line now. Looks like Kerfoot may finally have a role with the two gang busters on the wing. But somehow, that second line has got to improve. Too much strain on the first line at this point with them being AWOL. |

well now... from my perspective I know exactly what I would to "awaken" Mr Matthews.
hint - it doesn't involve keeping Nylander. |

Leafs fanboy fantasy trade. - Atomic Wedgie
Simmonds and Sami Vatanen to Toronto for a 2nd, 3rd, Cody Ceci, Timashov, Jeremy Bracco
I don't even know if this works cap wise and this is over payment for the 2 expiring contracts. |

I wouldn't move Johnsson for Clifford (+/-) ...
I'd rather see Johnsson go for a mid-range defenseman - perhaps in a package.
How's about
Barrie and Johnsson to Vegas

Fun Leafs story:
We signed Hal Gill to be exactly what you are talking about. 3rd pairing guy, eat minutes on the PK, sweep the front porch.
But he didn't put up the points, so Leafs Nation revoked his passport and deported him.
He ended up in Pittsburgh, where he played significant minutes in game seven of the Stanley Cup finals in '09, filling the role the Leafs originally signed him for.

3 years. 3 years is the average someone is happy from their bigger home, more luxurious car purchase.
You're correct that buying things doesn't make you happy but being wealthy certainly allows you to look for it in better places. - Aaron_85
Money changes people, don't get me wrong I know some pretty insanely wealthy people who generally seem pretty happy.
But when you look around, survey your friends and family...money is not what makes them happy. |

I've never been a Negative Nancy. Perhaps that's why I've been waiting patiently for Nylander to go to the next level. But like I said the other day, how long do we expect it to be? Sure hope he proves me wrong. He's gifted with tons of talent, but seems very content where he's at now. |

I quit my highly paid job a few years back. Traded it for personal freedom. I work when I want and do more or less what I want. Earn about a third of what I used to, but the freedom is great.

If they added Simmonds they could probably trade away an actual bottom 6 piece regular. |

If Willie could just add a bit of Brendan Gallager's hunger around the net to his game, then look out NHL |

Without a doubt. He's willing to sacrifice his body to get to those areas. Would be an awesome fit on the 34 line. Would hold the rest of the team accountable as well. Would be an awesome pickup for us at the deadline if the Habs were sellers. |

I don't see the Habs trading him anytime soon, especially at that great contract.
But oh boy.... is he gonna cost alot of money soon. |
