Makes sense trying Nylander on the left side.
He's never anywhere near the boards/corners anyways. - poopstash

Stanley Cup final?
Win a round first.
You’re (frank)ed. - daws44
Yet you give Echiel a pass for not making the playoffs.
It’s “the teams fault” in his case apparently.

One question: who is in net tonight?
Better not be Hutchinson - this is a 4-point game.
Hutchinson will be a waffle-stomp. |

My point is if Matthews missed every year that would no doubt be a big talking point used against him.
Matthews not getting out of the 1st round is a much bigger issue than Eichel never making them.
Guys liek Eichel and Barkov can just get free passes and no criticism and be lefta lione. |

I love hearing how Kadri and Gardiner, two of the biggest reasons we couldn't win in the playoffs leaving is such a horrendous mistake.
Gardiner is basically playing as a #5 D in Carolina and the lowest TOI of his career.
And you don't trade your UFAs if you're a playoff team.
And Dubas will not sign Pietrangelo. He doesn't fit with what they are doing.
And no, Nylander doesn't have to go. They'll have 13+ million thsi summer and Lilljegren and Sandin will be on the team next year. - RogerRoeper
Gardiner has the worst 5v5 GF% of any defenseman in the league right now.
Aside from the fact that I never disliked Gardiner as a player, statistically I like Jake Gardiner because I've always used the phrase, " Corsi is incapable of handling Jake Gardiner." At all levels of his game - Gardiner drives possession, helps to create Scoring Chances For and High Danger Chances For which are all indicators of a key driver (for instance, his HDCF% is 55.6% - or if you're not as nerdy as me, that means that he's been on the ice for 95 chances for to 76 against; or in perspective, that's 37th out of 176. In scoring Chances generated, he's 18th out of 176). What Corsi can't possibly manage is how awful the High Danger Chances Against actually are. Corsi chalks that stuff up to "he's unlucky."

You said it’s not Echels fault his team hasn’t made the playoffs because he’s on the sabres.
I can play too, it’s not Matthews fault because he’s on the leafs.
Nice try in dodging that one.

Is Lillybust playing? I hope he pulls a Dermott, and can provide solid 3rd pairing minutes. Would make Barrie expendable. - Steven_Seagull
for a couple of games it would be great... that would ramp up the pressure on Dubas to move Barrie prior to the TDL - knowing his has an in-house option.
package of Nylander and Barrie... |

Nylander-Matthews-Marner. Go with it. - RogerRoeper
When it came to Barrie & Rielly together, I said, "Who's going to get the puck? Who's going to prevent a goal?" So far they have not been too bad together. In fact, aside from a couple of ill advised pinches, they haven't been as bad as I feared.
When it comes to Nylander - Matthews - Marner . . .I have HUGE reservations! Who is getting the puck? If they have it, it could be a thing to behold - a majesty that is highlight worthy and beautiful. But if they turn it over . . . they might as well change. They're not getting it back.
In other words, I could be wrong, but I would not expect that line to be effective at all. |

do the Corsi numbers separate scoring chances created for the team you play for...v versus the ones you create for the opposition? |
