I'm just laughing that he typed out the ten count, what a douche nozzle
Johnston doesnt belong there but it makes the lines more even and also less effective I suppose. The issue was the 3rd line was awful most nights |

We have Ladd and his 5.5 million dollar ass rotting in BP. Please donāt give me a soft as Charmin, 36 YO Russian dangler ( that makes Chiefs Hard ) on this team.
I would play him exclusively on the PP and itās not part of the game yet so please (frank) no. You need grit in the POs not wussyās
Iām going to say he will be in Russia for the holidays and stay there. His time in the NHL has past as far as the Kings and Iām concerned |

I get what heās doing but itās actually limiting our scoring not helping it. We were doing fine without Ross Johnston on the first line. Canāt limit your best scorer. Itās not some thing we suddenly need. Itās been a problem for years. - Cptmjl
Ummmm.......not really. The first line was nothing special pre-Ross Johnston this season. Lee has been only so-so all season. The 2nd line (BNB) has been the bigger offensive threat.
I have no problem returning Lee and Eberle or Bailey to the top line to play alongside Barzal. In fact, I agree with you, I think it's time. However, I appreciate Trotz's attempt to spread out the scoring beyond the top 2 lines. And last night's debacle was all about the goaltending, not the play of Ross Johnston. (Not that you said otherwise) |

I'll have to take your word for it. Forgot Isles were playing yesterday and saw the Preds tied it at 3 and changed the channel. |

To be fair they outplayed the preds until 6 3 neither goalie could stop a shot and there were a few egregious turnovers but they kept at it |

The thing with Johnston is he's actually where he's supposed to be more often than not, and that's helped the line at times. He crashes the boards when he needs to move a few bodies out of the way for Barzal, he's in front of the net when he needs to create space for Barzal and Bailey, he breaks into the zone at the right times, and he's gotten back on D better than some other faster and more talented players. I can see why the experiment's lasted as long as it has...for a guy who was only supposed to punch people for a living, he's able to play the system really well.
The issue is he's obviously just not as naturally talented as some other, more obvious choices for that spot. Even if he's where he should be, he doesn't have the hands to finish in front of the net or thread a nice pass, and sometimes that leads to bad turnovers.
I agree it's probably time to change things up, but I think Johnston did an admirable job there...certainly better than I expected.

I really did think they outplayed them for the overwhelming majority of that game. Probably the only time I've ever said that about a team that lost by 5 goals. But the goaltending failed them, among some other things. I turned it off at 7-3 so I didn't have to suffer the indignity of watching the rest of that turdfest |

Yeah it was pretty bad.
I'd love to say "tomorrow is another day" but tomorrow is the Bruins and they're really god damn good. No rest for the weary I guess, hopefully they play angry |

4 goals on 14 shots is awful and then I think it was 5 on 15 and 6 on 16. At one point the last three preds shots were goals |

I only wish the retirement of Goring's #91 was when the Leafs were playing the Islanders in Uniondale. |
