All the pressure is on Lou. Barry will not get the blame if Lou does not add. - ses111
I’m not saying Lameriello won’t do the right thing. He has plenty of time. I’m just saying if he doesn’t get something done it’s a huge failure on his part.
Yes, per 7's predictions I am in the fetal position under my desk with a box of tissues (sad tissues, not happy tissues) having a mental breakdown.
Who knows, info out of Russia is clearly not always accurate and for all we know it could just be posturing to make sure the Isles have him pegged for an NHL job, not an AHL one. It doesn't make a ton of sense to me, honestly. Something about that report seems off. - eichiefs9
Have to think Sorokin would get plenty of starts next year and a young goalie new to the NHL wants to be with Barry, Pierre, and Mitch.

I would think he would get a legitimate shot in camp. If he plays well then he makes the cut. I don't think any team would guarantee him a spot.

Depending on how desperate a team is for goaltending that may not be true. Look at a team like San Jose. I could see them guaranteeing a start in their opening line up. What’s the worst that can happen? They tell him to (frank) off if he craps the bed? No huge loss there on what his contract will be. It’s plausible.

His 1st year will be nothing but his total contract will be huge imho or he isn’t leaving Russia.

Problem is that the Islanders would need to have a legitimate plan B in place and they don't have one in the system. They can't re-sign Greiss if they think Sorokin might win the job otherwise we'll be back to the three-headed goalie monster

I'm so glad I'm not a gm or even a hockeybuzz gm, too many things going on although lou is never in the office
I believe Soderstrom is out hurt, again, and Skarek is struggling in the AHL (he should be back down in the ECHL but Gibson is hurt so BPT has Skarek/Coreau splitting duty). His numbers are poop in either league though.

Yup and they really dont have a ton of prospects either - Upstate_isles
Plenty of time since Varly is here for the foreseeable future (at least until Seattle expansion draft) and Greiss should be a relatively simple re-signing.
