Nice win. The young guys led by Hart were all fantastic I thought.

Good game. I really needed that after the poopty day I had. Hart was great. Getting Konecny back makes a huge difference. Good to see G and Jake score. Just saw the Kase post game interview. It’s fun to see a player that excited about scoring a goal. He’s looked pretty good since being called up.

Agree on all counts. I didn't see the kase interview but no surprise. Big goal and his mom and dad were there to see it. Bragging rights vs bro too.

Hart unreal.

The more I read/hear about this team, the more I love them this year. Even before Oskar’s news the team seemed very close. And these tough circumstances have seemed to only bring them closer together. I give our team credit; in past seasons we’ve been called a mentally fragile team. AV has truly been a fantastic hire and he’s finding an identity for our team, something we’ve lacked for a few years as well. Idk if we’re closer as a group with some of the new guys being added to the mix or we just never heard this much about the players relationships with one another. But the little stories and clips of this team I keep seeing are awesome. Such as Nolan living with Hayes, Oskar texting TK for the concussion, and even just tonight post-game the guys all singing Lion King song since they call Kase Timon. The team just feels different this year.

Just imagine this team later in the season. Hardened by the injuries early in the season. Young guys had the chance to play larger roles. PK will be stronger (Laughton, Pitlick, Raffl back). Hart gained confidence during this stretch. D playing well. Don't want to get ahead of myself but I like that heading into playoffs. Let's just qualify for the playoffs first.

Not worried. Flyers were in a playoff position on Thanksgiving. No team that is out of a playoff spot on Thanksgiving ever makes the playoffs. We're set.

Was very nice to see the big 3 vets step up. As excited as I am for the kids, this year's team will go as far as Giroux, Voracek, and Couturier will take them. Obviously, goaltending and guys like Konecny and Provorov will play big roles, but if those 3 can get going, we should be okay.

Hart was great last night. Needs a bit more consistency, have to remember he's only 21. Overall he's trending towards being a franchise goaltender like the Flyers have coveted for decades.

The attendance last night was embarrassing. Could have had archery practice in the stands.

Haha. Probably. Hopefully the injured players trickle back over the next two weeks or so, and they can resume the great brand of hockey they were playing in November.

At first, the game was really really empty. But all the philly beat writers shared pics later in the game and it really filled out. The poopty weather and traffic def played a factor. But at first it really looked pathetic

Attendence isnt a huge issue. When the weather is bad people tend to stay in. Flyers average 91.2% this season of their stadium so Im not worried.

That may be tickets sold. Even so 91.2% is like in the 20's in NHL attendance. If they win and make the playoffs the fans will be back.

Some may not agree with me, but I think the Hakstol days did damage to the fan base. Even in 06/07, the fans were still coming out. Same in 12/13, even after the half-season lockout. But over the past few years, the brand of hockey was very bland, even when they were winning. If you're losing but playing an exciting, inspired brand of hockey, the fans will come out. If you're playing mediocre and playing a very bland, "responsible" brand of hockey, the fans won't want to spend their time/money on it. Under Hakstol, whether he was the man making the calls or a man who had his hands tied, the team played fairly well overall, but it was not an overly exciting brand of hockey, personified by certain players who were everyday players because of their "responsible" and "consistent" styles. It will take time for the fans to return, but they will.

Was the weather even that bad yesterday? I'm 20 minutes away in South Jersey and we just got some rain.

I like Kases speed, this team needs that, trying to think of a player he reminds me of

Played for NY, then Pitt now with Caps

I just watched the highlights. The one thing that I noticed were all the empty seats especially in the 1st period. Considering this was the first game back after an emotional road trip and the fact they are playing much better than in recent years, I thought there’d be more in attendance. Are the increased ticket prices really having that much of an impact?

I was impressed with Aube-Kubel, both his skating and body checking. Seemed to have a very good motor for a guy that is not having a big year in the AHL. He should be around at least until Farabee returns. Since he must pass through waivers I wonder if they are considering keeping him longer as an extra forward.

Stewart got his 20 seconds of fame throwing punches. Otherwise only 5 minutes TOI to equal his 5 in the box. AV obviously does not feel comfortable with him out there.

There was only one time I noticed him in the entire game aside from the fight, and he was skating back from the OZ and I thought, "Hey, he doesn't look like a terrible skater." That's about as good as I could rate it, "not terrible." Other than that and the fight, didn't even notice him again, which also means he didn't make any egregious mistakes.
