That may be tickets sold. Even so 91.2% is like in the 20's in NHL attendance. If they win and make the playoffs the fans will be back.
- PLindbergh31

Tickets sold is what matters. Nobody buys tickets without the intention of going. Sometime life happens and things prevent you from going but if tickets are being bought, fans want to be at the games, that is what matters.

Some may not agree with me, but I think the Hakstol days did damage to the fan base. Even in 06/07, the fans were still coming out. Same in 12/13, even after the half-season lockout. But over the past few years, the brand of hockey was very bland, even when they were winning. If you're losing but playing an exciting, inspired brand of hockey, the fans will come out. If you're playing mediocre and playing a very bland, "responsible" brand of hockey, the fans won't want to spend their time/money on it. Under Hakstol, whether he was the man making the calls or a man who had his hands tied, the team played fairly well overall, but it was not an overly exciting brand of hockey, personified by certain players who were everyday players because of their "responsible" and "consistent" styles. It will take time for the fans to return, but they will.

I agree with all of this.

There was only one time I noticed him in the entire game aside from the fight, and he was skating back from the OZ and I thought, "Hey, he doesn't look like a terrible skater." That's about as good as I could rate it, "not terrible." Other than that and the fight, didn't even notice him again, which also means he didn't make any egregious mistakes.
- jmatchett383

Actually I’ll correct my prior statement. Stewart had 7 PM and still only 5 TOI. Not a great game. The main reason you didn’t notice him was because he wasn’t on the ice.

hopefully he sticks. I know he's made it through waivers before, but I don't wanna take that chance again.

Hart is 11-1-0 in his career in games when he has faced 38 or more shots.

Pitlick's concussion was actually a sinus related issue so he could be back in tomorrow. Stewart would likely drop out, but maybe come back as the DH for the Ottawa game.

doesn't help that the Flyers raised ticket prices coming off of missing the playoffs again.

I'm still amazed they did that. They should have known demand for Flyers tickets was going to be price elastic.

I don't think he'd get picked up. Remember, if he's claimed, he has to stay on that team's NHL roster or be exposed to waivers again. Most teams have a similar player of their own that may be waiver exempt, but won't add to their contract limit. There's a slim chance, but very unlikely.

I was impressed with Aube-Kubel, both his skating and body checking. Seemed to have a very good motor for a guy that is not having a big year in the AHL. He should be around at least until Farabee returns. Since he must pass through waivers I wonder if they are considering keeping him longer as an extra forward.

Stewart got his 20 seconds of fame throwing punches. Otherwise only 5 minutes TOI to equal his 5 in the box. AV obviously does not feel comfortable with him out there.

don't they have 30 days or something before he would have to go thru waivers? hard to keep some of these rules straight

While some of the issues between the two will be related (head aches, for instance), I don't think a sinus related issue can cause dizziness when standing and sensitivity to mildly bright light. How in the (frank) can a team of medical professionals confuse the two?

I can tell you a few friends let their tickets go because of the increase and having other things they needed to prioritize. I considered getting a game plan (assuming I could get a friend to go in) but just decided not to because the secondary market is cheaper.

Where do you go for tix? I want to take my wife and daughter, but can't find any cheap tix (under $75 each out the door) for a weekend game...and that just isn't happening.

Because they absolutely can cause those symptoms. Trust me I know because I had one of them when I had a sinus infection last winter. During the sinus infection any standing, laying down or sudden head turn to the left brought on dizziness.

Also people aren't robots they don't always present the same symptoms with a prognosis or even heal the same way. Line up 5 people, do an ACL reconstruction using the same approach and all of them will heal at a different pace.

I just watched the highlights. The one thing that I noticed were all the empty seats especially in the 1st period. Considering this was the first game back after an emotional road trip and the fact they are playing much better than in recent years, I thought there’d be more in attendance. Are the increased ticket prices really having that much of an impact?
- Sublime55

I think ticket cost is really far down the list on attendance last night at the start.

Bad weather, not an exciting opponent to the casual fan, week before holidays, coming off a disaster of a week.

Yes, it can.

The confusion part I kind of agree with, though. Surely he was showing signs of sinus congestion, testing for an infection is super easy.

Since 11/10 the Flyers have 6 PP GF and 2 SH GA. Buffalo has 7 PP GF and 5 SH GA.

So the Flyers are as likely to score shorthanded as on the powerplay tomorrow.

Dizziness when standing I can get actually, your sinuses do control that. But I don't believe exposure to mild light could trigger symptoms of a sinus infection. Also, inability to focus the eyes, inability to concentrate, and overall fatigue would not (I don't believe) be caused by a sinus issue.I'm not a doctor, but when I've had a sinus infection (I understand there are different degrees), I've never thought I was concussed because I have had a concussion, and it's a unique feeling.

And yes, no concussion has the same symptoms and same healing rate, but I find it odd that a team of medical professionals who see concussions on a semi-regular basis could misdiagnose a sinus issue as one.
