I think Lehtera played "the right way" and "consistently." Not necessarily "good" though. - jmatchett383
ok, if you are getting at veteran experience, I'll agree to some percentage of that.
But this is still a business, and you have to account for expense. Even if this is money for nothing ( not sure about the chicks) |

It’s not apologizing for Hextall, but more a frank assessment of his tenure. His decision to slow-walk the rebuild will always be controversial with I’m sure, a fair amount of those who were either for it or against it (I understand both sides on this). What also can’t be denied is his work building up the farm system and clearing up the cap.
There’s no doubt they’re in a better position than they were 4-5 years ago going forward. They’re now seeing the fruits of all of Hextall’s work. Perhaps Hexy is a better GM in a complete rebuild scenario than one that is in a win-now or ascending mode. Being critical of his moves while praising his role in drafting and development are not mutually exclusive. - Sublime55
Well said. I personally believe that when he felt the time was appropriate in the development stage with the team, Hextall would've gotten more aggressive in his approach. He did a strong job in my opinion and I'm thankful.

In 18-19 Lehtera played 24 of 31 games when Hakstol was coach.
Lehtera played 3 NHL games after Hakstol was fired. |

He did a piss poor job managing the nhl team. Put a product on the ice that was unwatchable most of the time. just your average GM

In their minds, justification of the salary they picked up - DaveofYork
No one had to justify anything. He was acquired to get Farabee and Frost. Schenn was not worth 2 first round picks. |

Money is made with the sold tickets. Concessions are too expensive to begin with. Most people dont pay for that anyways. I know I alsays eat before or after the game. I dont got $10 to drop on a slice of pizza that $3 elsewhere. |

Sadly, the $9 slice of pizza is probably the best value at the arena. Compare that to a $7 hot dog. |

I stand corrected. you are the model for the other 19,499 fans that attend a sold out game. I wonder why they even bother having concession stands. Watching the games I would have never guessed that thousands, if not over ten thousand fans bring their own beer, pizza, buckets of Chickie n Petes crab fries, cotton candy, and popcorn into the arena.
I owe you a deep and sincere apology. What was I thinking to question a trendsetter such as yourself? Please do not report me to Santa Clause, I have tried very hard to stay on his nice list. |
