Yeah I would have to say the only thing Hughes I'd going for Myers is rack up his Corsi for. Defensively they are cringe worthy. Tanev better than Myers.

He may not be, and he may be part of the problem. He certainly has shown he doesn’t have the skills to fix the problem.

I would say he is the problem. The roster has changed and the results are different but yet still the same.

After watching AC Milan go through 7 coaches in 5 years. I've seen all different coaching styles. Watching the same players play differently for each. Sometimes one player is better and individuals thrive but the best coaches get the team to play as a unit.

I'm not seeing Van play as a unit.

Interesting white-towel podcast with Ed Willes, asserting that the team is largely in the same place as it has been the last three years. Maybe a little more positive outlook with the young players (Hughes, EP, BB, Miller) but overall position and competitiveness largely unchanged.

While Willes is not the most provocative commentator, it was interesting that he notes that Green’s preferred style of play (up tempo, pressure oriented) isn’t matched by the makeup of the team, while Benning promotes a grinding “hard skill” style that isn’t matched by the coaching. Basically they aren’t on the same page.

Ed suggests that if there is a change during the season it would be Green (“but who do you get to replace him”?) and if there isn’t one until the end of the season it would be Benning (“but does that mean you have to reset and give up one or more young players to change direction”). Not novel thinking there.

Also says the most interesting benchmark coming up is Arizona, who are now looking like the team the Canucks talked about building.

A new coach might have the rope to make that call. Canuck PR office will hate to lose the local boys but can live with it if it means wins.

I think we are just in a slump . I am disappointed in Bo mainly. I think Benning has wasted a lot of cap and he needs to fix that fast.
