If he ends the season there, his season should be labeled as a disappointment. I still believe he will exceed that mark, but the margin for error is narrowing quickly.

Jeff Skinner did not offer himself 9Mil, his agent negotiated and Jbotts agreed to pay it, if there is blame anywhere its on the GM not the player, Skinner has been in the league for 9 years and averages 30 goals & 24 helpers per year for a total of 54 point. Right now he is lower then average but he is a streaky goal scorer playing with crap centers. He is not a take over the game player. he is not Jack... Don't expect him to hit 40 goals every year. It is not gonna happen. Hope for 28-35 goals & 50-60 pts total. now if we get a true #2 center in here then I would think you could want a little more from Skinner. But until then be happy if he gets close to his career average.

Ok last 41 games he scored 14 goals, that is pretty much what he averages per 41 games for his ENTIRE career and he played with Jack most of last year.

This year he is below average at 11 goals playing with a 4th line center... And its Skinners fault he is below average? He NEEDS a center to dish him the puck....it has nothing to do with what he gets paid and everything to do with the players he is playing with...

And botts has been derelict in his duties for a year and a half. Trying to stop gap the position with a rookie, a converted wing or second year player who wasn’t ready the year before. It’s mind bottling.

I had this debate with a buddy of mine who feels the same way as you. For me it comes down to the fact that Skinner was signed as a 40 goal scorer based on his time and production with Eichel. They took away Eichel and didn't have a plan for 2C (AGAIN).

Of course I want more from Skinner, but I don't expect it based on what he's given.

I see the other side. I guess what I'd say is I'm just not surprised so I'm not mad or disappointed
