LOL, K. You know all. How has Komorov mad Beu or Barzal a better player. I love Matty Marts, but pretty sure hes expendable. Keunackle too.

Don’t know why you have to put the “ you know all “ in there?

Uncle Leo was pretty influential in Beau last year on and off the ice, just ask him.

You and the group think on here just give the kudos to Trotz. Lou has changed this organization and how it’s run from hockey ops to administration and everything in between.

Maybe, but what has he done lately? Unfortunately, we are judged on what has been done most recently. Our legacies are tied to the whole, but people remember the most recent. And he hasn't done anything, save for Brassard, in the past 18 months. Kudos to the coaching, admin, cultural change. Much of that has to do with him, and the personal he brought in. Now what??

His team is 2nd in the league currently. They made a pretty good run last year. How much of a change did we need. Not much obviously because we are currently 2nd in the league. We needed another C and he got Brassard. As it turns out at C he hasn’t been what we wanted but at wing with Nelson and Beau he has been really good.
Sorry but Lou has forgotten more about hockey and building a team than we on this shat forsaken blog would know in our life time. Just keeping it real.

Look, don't take it personal, I know about as much as you, maybe less on what this team needs to bust out. Last year I thought was an anomaly, but that seems to be proven wrong with the current success. We have piece to make a legitimate run at the cup, im just saying now is the time for our GM to act. Or at least by the trade deadline. I love what hes done, but I want more.

Never personal, I would never last on a this thread
Of course, so does Lou. A cup win is why he took this job. Quit honestly for a Guy who has nothing to prove as far as his career, if he brings this team to a cup under his rule he will be one of the best.
He’s on it as far as getting what we need, Trotz and him discuss it daily. The fact is as everyone knows you are not going to know what Lou is going after. The promise of silence and secrecy as far as what he’s doing is respected league wide.
Guy has earned it and I am stoked that he’s running our team

Pretty sure if a deal that makes sense and gives us what we need is obtainable it will be done.

Said the same thing about Nelson until Trotz got a hold of him. Kreider might just need a fresh start and somebody like Trotz to get the best out of him plus playing along side somebody like Barzal can't hurt. For the right numbers I wouldn't think twice about adding him.
- Vukota

Anything is possible with Trotz but I’d rather take a chance on someone with more consistency to their game then to overpay for a player who is one of the more frustrating in the NHL. He has a way of disappearing at the absolute worst time for his team. Like vanishes doesn’t exist.

Aho and a 3rd for Pageau; Aho, Ladd, and a 1st for Pageau… Let Ottawa choose! If they take Komorov, the Isles throw in Bellows and a 4th!

That was one of the coolest things about the hbo 24/7 series, in Pittsburgh they had bylsma and the gm at the time meeting and grading each player after every game. Great insight into how that works I loved that series

Remember the results dont mean anything, remember when he said the caps were better than the pens and the pens won back to back cups the pens literally beat the caps both years on their way to the cup too

Nice job Ben,

I will agree Nelson has been one of this years biggest surprises, however you should have included Beau as well. The thing is the chemistry those 2 have found together this year has really helped both of them take the next step and really help this team.

- nyisles7

Thanks for that and fair enough, Beauvillier has taken a big step forward too.

Agreed Ben.

What’s more, he’s living up to his new contract which I originally thought of as a bit rich. Now it looks like solid market value, especially when he’s compared to players like Hayes and Stastny.

- Wildschwein

Thanks for reading!

I thought the Nelson deal was fairly reasonable based on comparables but if he keeps this pace it'll end up being a steal.

Tough break for Cal.

It’s an opportunity for Ladd to show he can still play at the NHL pace/level.

Not a surprise we have not seen the last of Laddy Daddy and especially there would be injuries with the 4th line with their style of play.

That line when intact is effective. When missing one not so much it seems. I think Martin could be out with much of a difference but that’s about it. Hopefully they can adjust because clutter is going to be done for a long time maybe even the season...

That line is effective when intact. I think they need to do better in terms of letting up on the gas. When the playoffs come around, they are not as effective from their style of play all season long.

It becomes more and more important almost daily for Lameriello to make a move. We’ll see how he does. I hope he does great and comes back a new player but I’m certainly not expecting it. If Lou could add to the top 6 or even the third line we can push Ladd out of the line up again which would be optimum. Alternate kuhnackl and Johnston on the 4th line and call it a day.

Meh they were great against the Pens. Like awesome. Not so great against the Canes but nobody was.
