if you don't have a second line center next year between cozens, and casey

we need a new GM

- homiedclown

Casey will not be the 2nd line center and neither will Cozens.

The Botterill plan is "throw poop at the wall and see what sticks"

Just give him 2 or 3 more top 10 picks. He'll get it right

- jcragcrumple

Let's face it, from a fans perspective we are all guessing on draft prospects based on the reports and rankings we have read, along with a couple viewings along the way.
Casey looked great at WJ20s against his peers where many set their expectations for him.
He then had an ok year in College adjusting to bigger, stronger, faster players. That should have been a warning sign to many about adjusting expectations... but the Sabres did not fully recognize that when they signed him to his ELC, then burned a year of his contract, promising him NHL play.
They did the same with Tage after the Blues did much the same the year before.

Point is, they really do need a more experienced executive at the top who has been through a successful rebuild or two, to ask the tough questions...demand solid B and C plans, to challenge the "strategies".

It’s difficult to be optimistic about Mitzy at this point, but not difficult to be feeling good about Coz.

Yeah and I watched Tannehill complete more difficult passes today then the one's Allen missed yesterday. Sorry but those were not hard throws by NFL standards, and he wasn't close.
- Buff36

Just watching the highlight package the NFL put together for the game yesterday, I saw Allen make 3 difficult throws right on the money. Every QB misses throws. Allen continues to improve.

The league changed last year with respect to RFA's...they are now being paid more than previously in fair recognition that it is much better to pay for current and future production, rather than for past production which was/is the UFA conundrum.

Therefore, Sam will get paid. He is on pace for 65sh points and I think his contract comes in at $7.5m+/- ... especially after he bet on himself with a sweet bridge deal 2 years ago...he'll want to recapture some "lost" earnings.

65 points is nothing to sneeze at, especially at RW, hence why I would only move him for a very good 2C. That leaves holes at RW throughout the lineup. My hope is that Cozens and Mitts can fill 2 of the 3, and Botts will need to find another. Does Tage ever develop his game enough to fill one thereby allowing Cozens or Mitts to grab the 3C and develop into a 2C?

- IonSabres

The Sabres will regret re-signing him. If the Sabres ever make the playoffs, the way he plays now, Reinhart will be a non-factor.

On Carson Wentz:

"He also has quietly put a good season together. 26-7 TD vs int is dam good also. And you have to account for Mass injuries."

"Two back-to-back rough games against the Pats and Seahawks made him look much worse than he's actually been this year"

Hmmm 🤔🤔🤔

I think Cozens is a sure fire NHL’er no doubt. The only reason why he fell to Buffalo at 7 is because scouts questioned his high end skill level. I think he had the highest floor out of any draft eligible player not named Hughes or Kakko in that draft.

He is not flashy, might not have the greatest hands, but he’s got speed to burn and a great shot.

He should be a top 6 forward if he continues his trajectory.

I am not a draft expert, nor did I have a better idea of who to pick than Mittelstadt. I'm talking generally about his scattershot approach to building a team and jamming players like Mittelstadt into positions

He just needs a couple more years to fix his own mess

Botts is always looking for that next Jeff skinner trade.

Get pennies on the dollar type trade

Tried that with miller, sheary, and vesey trades but failed.

And Beaulieu. He might actually get equal value on his Scandella trade at the TDL. That would be a real score for him

I now that cong, and I really do like Allen, he is the perfect QB for Buffalo. But the 2 throws to Knox in the endzone, even if he completed 1 of them it changes the game. He's a good QB right now if he can take those next couple steps he could be really good.

Good lord Allen played the second best game of any QB has against NE this year.

Our defense gave up a 17 play drive starting at the 1 yesterday.

Another game where every, single, point scored is on the back of Josh Allen.

Devin Singletary has 1 long run all season and he’s been put on some pedestal.

How about someone breaks a tackle and takes one to the house?

Nope, it’s just Allen

- sbroads24

Before the pass to Knox at the end of the first half,
Allen was something like 3-10 for 19yards
That’s absolutely horrific
No ifs, ands, or buts

Then after the pass to Brown to go up 17-10,
he again did absolutely nothing till the last drive of the game

U wanna day other parts of the team didn’t play well too, fine
But that doesn’t excuse Allen

Exact opposite. He was all flash and dangles, however against high school competition. I’ll admit I drank the koolaid after his WJC appearance and how he’s dominated his age group at multiple international tournaments just like that one.

However, as we have all seen the past year and a half, the NHL is a whole other level and although he’s got elite raw skills he has below average skating and conditioning levels.

Mittelstadt can become an NHL winger but it’s up to him to commit to it. He needs to improve his off ice and on ice training and work on his skating and conditioning levels.

Getting his confidence back will also help.

Who is hating on him, but those 2 throws to Knox in the Endzone in the 1st Quarter and the 4th Qaurter could have really changed the outcome of the game. I never said he had a bad game, but he should have atleast hit 1 of them, by NFL standards they really weren't hard throws and Knox had both defenders beat easily.

Well think he's the perfect QB for Buffalo, just needs to keep improving and work on his touch a little and take the next steps.
