so you send sam and something else for a center for the second line
then have glaring needs for rw'ers
and you have 2 top 8 picks in the wings, and one of them should be able to be a second line center
this team can't score, reinhart has 130 points in his last 154 games
the goal of a trade should be a short term center for the second line, which would not require a player like reinhart to be moved, but rather picks and/or prospects
now if you need a long term solution for a second line center, then you have an incompetent gm, because he just used 2 picks in the top 8 over the last 3 years to draft a center
we are deep at goalies, d men and left wingers, that is what we should be moving if trying to acquire a center if not using picks - homiedclown
Done assuming Mitts and Cozens will evolve into a 2C...hoping Cozens does, don't see it with Mitts.
In the meantime, I do think Cozens can and will play RW initially, likely 2nd, maybe 1st with Jack?
Mitts or Tage could/should be 3RW.
2C uplifts 2LW and 2RW...most here would agree, you as well, 89 stared so as well.
Sheary, Vesey, Scandella, Bogo, Miller, McCabe, Larry, Girge are "trash", not a central piece of a trade package for a 2C...and you know it as well.
Borgen, Pilut, Tage, Mitts are significant questionmarks presently as to their NHL quality....Experienced prospects really...sweetners in a package, not the central piece.
Want to include Joker? Dahlin? Montour? Risto? Olofsson? Skinner? Jack? You could get a good 2C for many of them |

We lost the game, we weren't good enough on both sides of the ball to win. Hopefully they take what they learned from this loss and go get a win in the playoffs. I can say that no team wants to face the Bill's in the in the 1st round, because there a tough out. - Buff36
Wouldnt every team want to face josh allen? He cant complete throws a high school qb could make.
Which is it?
And: if the defense plays great all season and then doesn't play to that standard, wouldn't they be more at fault for not playing up to standard for the whole game. Then the qb making 2 bad throws to Knox.
Try and enjoy josh Allen. It's fun being on this side of the fence. |

36 I disagree with your view of josh allen. Josh missed a few throws on sunday. Big deal.
Allen is the future of the Bill's and the future is bright.
Sometimes around here, it's the people who you agree with or disagree with that proves you right or wrong.
You are with fitz and tooph9
Not good company when it comes to football opinions - Boss34
It is a big deal cause they could have changed the game, and QB'S miss throws all the time, but these were not hard throws. And again have stated that Allen is perfect for Buffalo. The offense left points on the field. And you can't do that against NE or KC or any team we face in the playoffs, it's could be the difference in winning or losing and that happened Saturday |

I'm on the same train now with Mitts that I was with Nylander...trade him now while some GM thinks they can develop him properly.
He's young, so there us a chance that he will develop...but, he has an uphill battle ahead of him, I'm not sure he has the mental fortitude to commit to doing what is necessary to get on the NHL level.
If so, I would have expected more results between last season and this season. |

It feels different because they are winning more consistently rather than being inflated by a single hot streak. They're treading water right now for a much longer period of time, which could still get them to squeak into the playoffs. |

.500 hockey should be enough. They need to make a move or two to be sustainable at this rate.
Eichel being out, proved that the team needs something other than the same retreads that we have thrown out since 2014. |

Should we be giving Kreuger any credit for Eichel finally developing into the all around player that we all now love? |

This is a stupid post, and I enjoy Allen and the way he plays, just cause your Fandom gets in the way of reality don't come at me. Are defense has held us in 90% of are games this year, are offense had a chance to bail them out for once and they failed, and Allen had a hand in that |

Yes, absolutely.
Sabres are making progress, despite having a worse record at this point in the season .

Wasn't it you who said "you don't get it, nobody wants the Sabres trash", and scoff at other trades suggested as not having enough value in Sabres player going out?
Yes, yes it is.
How do you reconcile acquiring a player if high skill...by throwing them trash? - IonSabres

if it's turris, a goalie prospect, a d prospect and an expiring contract is more then enough if they retain 2 mil
for johansen
casey, a first round pick and mccabe - homiedclown
If you were trading ROR, would you take that heap of crap?
A guy who failed in the NHL for 1-1/2 seasons and now is struggling in the AHL, a 3rd pairing, and a 1st, plus be expected to retain $2m for 5-1/2 seasons?
Nope, didn't think so either. |

Yeah, especially on the defensive side of his game. Krueger installed a system that works very well for Eichel |

The NFL Network broke down the two misses to Knox in the endzone. On the one in the 4th quarter, nobody seems to notice that 6'5 Kyle Van Noy was right in Allen's throwing lane. He had to throw it over him and still drop it in the bucket. Now, that's a throw that the "good" quarterbacks in this league can still make (Mahomes, Brees, etc.), but it was a much more difficult throw than it looked like. - buffalofan19
Proud to agree with another spot on football take 19.
It's almost like you actually do some research aside from complaining about 2 throws that a "high school qb" could have made.
Could you please tell jcrags that this isn't all jbotts fault.
It's become really difficult reading his constant crying (again). Post in post out. |

I agree. And, Botts hired Krueger. Ergo, Botts did something good.
My positions are:
Botts screwed up ROR trade, but I hated that faker/vampire and he can go to hell for loosing his love of the game in Buffalo.
Every other move Botts has made, I approve of. (Mitts is starting to smell though)
This team is gonna be patient now, just like the Bills. Goal is building a team that competes every year. The Bills seem like they are finally there and the Sabres are one year away.

Stupid post, I guess the gloves are off b!tch
2 bad throws is your platform.
But, you like allen, he's perfect for buffalo.
The offense should have bailed out the defense for a change? But this is on allen and his 2 bad throws.
The defense let us down. Offense played as expected

Boss.. I don't think it all Jbotts fault but I think he plays a very large roll. I agree Murray emptied the cupboards with the Kane and ROR trades, However our biggest need last year was #2 center and still is this year and Jbotts has still not fixed that. This team is not that far away, Legit #2 center and a Scoring winger (25 a year) should make us much, Much better. Jbotts must address the #2 Center now before the season goes up in smoke.

tank it til you make it?
or
keep trading 2nds and 3rds for mediocre players?
The plan this year was "My 10 UFAs will perform because they need new contracts and Mittelstadt is ready to play 2C"
the b-plot plan was hoarding defensemen like a squirrel stowing nuts for the winter. Thankfully Eichel's stellar play has made the season interesting. That Philadelphia game should have opened some eyes. His plans are garbage |

Good post
I'm just not sure if jbotts isnt looking to the future still.
Maybe so the Sabres and Bill's are good at the same exact time? Maybe help with public opinion of the new dual stadium?
Wouldnt it be easy to overpay futures for players? I'd rather not do that. |

My patience is wearing thin, for sure. I'd like for any sort of sustainable progress to show.
How well can Casey perform in Rochester for him to get brought back up? How long will it take? I bought into the plan, but his cards need to come out. It seems like he's folding every hand, and while it's keeping him in the game, it's not going to win. |

I still like Baker alot. He is in need of a coach who knows what he is doing.
I like Josh alot, and am rooting for him to succeed. That doesn't stop me from being objective about him, which is he is widely inconsistent. These posts the last 2 days point to that in spades..two tales of the same game, and both are right. I wish he would show up for 4 quarters rather than stumbling for 3 and working it out in the 4th because the D held the team in there to give him a chance. We saw what that type of play yields against other top teams in Balt and NE...oh, and in Cleveland against his peer. He has a TON of improving to do...which we expected since he is a project QB. He is improving regularly, so there is hope. Objective.

What does this mean?
I said I'd be open to them trading Rhino + for a 2C. I know he isn't trash.
But you either scoff at "trash" for quality, or quality for quality.
All I hear is they need a 2C...no suggestions on who AND what to give up. Never. |
