Maybe jbotts wants the players he's drafted to play a roll in winning. Guys are a year out?
Pekar
6 k
Samuelson
Cozens - Boss34
6k is the only one we might see next year of those 3, but he's in the ECHL, so I wouldn't expect to see him til the end of next year if there are injuries. JJ is the next goalie up imo
I have no doubt Botterill will count on Cozens |

I doubt they finish there as the roster stands. After seeing his roster throw up all over itself against Philadelphia, he lost whatever remaining credibility he had.
The best thing this team can do is get rid of him and his poopty UFAs, make ralph the VP of hockey ops and have him lead a GM search.
The only reason the season isnt a tire fire is because of Eichel - jcragcrumple
You aren’t awarded any of these contingencies, sorry.
I offered you these olive branches and you wanted 90 points. They’ve steadily maintained that pace pretty much all season and will probably be a few points on either side.
They ain’t firing him. And if he doesn’t address the forwards I’d probably want them to. But they aren’t |

I agree. And, Botts hired Krueger. Ergo, Botts did something good.
My positions are:
Botts screwed up ROR trade, but I hated that faker/vampire and he can go to hell for loosing his love of the game in Buffalo.
Every other move Botts has made, I approve of. (Mitts is starting to smell though)
This team is gonna be patient now, just like the Bills. Goal is building a team that competes every year. The Bills seem like they are finally there and the Sabres are one year away. - Angler
This is a good post and I agree with most of it.
My issue with Botts isn't the moves he has made, rather it is the moves he hasn't done and have been needed for 1-1/2seasons...plenty of time, even using his 14 month clock. |

Stupid post, I guess the gloves are off b!tch
2 bad throws is your platform.
But, you like allen, he's perfect for buffalo.
The offense should have bailed out the defense for a change? But this is on allen and his 2 bad throws.
The defense let us down. Offense played as expected - Boss34
He had more then that, just pointing those out, how about the 1 to Beasley over the middle, or the one to Singletary he threw in the dirt. And god what is wrong about pointing things out. Yes the defense let us down, but we could say that about the offense alot too. And just because you complain about things that could have been done better, doesn't mean you dislike the person. |

Done assuming Mitts and Cozens will evolve into a 2C...hoping Cozens does, don't see it with Mitts.
In the meantime, I do think Cozens can and will play RW initially, likely 2nd, maybe 1st with Jack?
Mitts or Tage could/should be 3RW.
2C uplifts 2LW and 2RW...most here would agree, you as well, 89 stared so as well.
Sheary, Vesey, Scandella, Bogo, Miller, McCabe, Larry, Girge are "trash", not a central piece of a trade package for a 2C...and you know it as well.
Borgen, Pilut, Tage, Mitts are significant questionmarks presently as to their NHL quality....Experienced prospects really...sweetners in a package, not the central piece.
Want to include Joker? Dahlin? Montour? Risto? Olofsson? Skinner? Jack? You could get a good 2C for many of them - IonSabres
You’re on a roll this morning, sir. |

Like i said, I doubt they will finish there, but we'll see. If Botterill finally does something significant then they could. We're going to look back on this season as an enormous waste if he doesn't |

My patience is wearing thin, for sure. I'd like for any sort of sustainable progress to show.
How well can Casey perform in Rochester for him to get brought back up? How long will it take? I bought into the plan, but his cards need to come out. It seems like he's folding every hand, and while it's keeping him in the game, it's not going to win. - thatsapickle
Long enough that Casey has demonstrated over a lengthy period of time he has elevated his game and has shown a demonstrable evidence he is improving his skating and physical strength...at least 12 calendar months...maybe 18. |

This Sabres season is a carbon copy of the one the Bills had last year.
There is absolutely no reason why the Sabres aren’t a playoff team next year, if not then I’ll agree with the mast majority here and they can blast him into the sun. |

What does this mean?
I said I'd be open to them trading Rhino + for a 2C. I know he isn't trash.
But you either scoff at "trash" for quality, or quality for quality.
All I hear is they need a 2C...no suggestions on who AND what to give up. Never. - IonSabres
You're not getting it are you, we need help up front a Center and a RW, so why trade Reinhart when that takes away from one of your RW spots. People want Botterill to make a trade but yet want Reinhart gone. Trading Reinhart does absolutely nothing. |

I don’t think developing a strong culture, playing meaningful hockey deep in the season, all while adding another top 15 pick is an “enormous waste”.
This team is where everyone logically thought they’d be in the offseason. Hovering around a playoff spot. |

What kind of trade package do you think Rhino and a 2021 first could bring in ? Add Samuelson if you have to.
Cozens will be a RW, Okposo we are stuck with. I’m sure if need be we can sign one or two RW in Free Agency this year, odds are we aren’t signing a 2C though. |

Who says Cozens is a RW ? and he hasn't played a game in the NHL, it's Mitts all over again. You add not subtract, he has picks, prospects and D men to work with with trades. What RW's you want to sign for this year ?you move Reinhart and add a center then what ? you have no RW. Botterill screwed himself thinking that Mitts would be his Savior. |

Dr No doesn't offer ideas on potential partners, players, nor packages. Just sits and poo pool's everybody else's thoughts.
They need a 2C. Really? For fvcks sakes, what insight. |

I'm sure you'd take anybody over Dahlin and Joker right? I mean, you don't like the guy, but those two have star written all over them, and they're both Botts doing. |

Funny isn’t it.
He’s giving Murray credit for the top line, which includes 2 top 2 picks.
But 0 credit for Dahlin because it’s a no-brainer |

Use a package of picks, prospects, and Dmen to acquire the RW replacement, hold salary.
Easier to secure a suitable RW than a high quality 2C. |

Playoffs!! We're talking, Playoffs!!!!!
So nice to see that our Bills are finally good again. It's been far too long, it is great to see they are competitive once again. Would have been great to beat The Patsies, but, they're still a good team over there. Oh well, next time we'll kick their asses. The Bills will dominate on the field and leave no doubt that they are much better now than they ever were during NE's dominant run. Then they will even take evil coach Bill's lunch money, as well as his camcorder, away from him.
Playoffs! Go Bills!! |

I’m pretty sure everyone in Detroit thinks Larkin is a great 1C center. So that would be hard to pull off.
Love the other 2 moves |
