But with Clutterbuck on IR they're down to 22 guys on the roster without Ladd. Maybe they're bringing Bardreau back? I have no clue.

It is strange indeed. The only thing I can think of is that the Isles get a small amount of cap relief by sending him down. They don't need it now, but maybe Lou wants to give himself a little extra flexibility for the trade deadline.

By the way, for those asking about Andrew Ladd being sent back to Bridgeport (AHL). It was a normal re-assignment. Ladd was not with the #Isles on an emergency recall. Barry Trotz deferred questions to Lou Lamoriello on roster move. Hoping to talk to Lou later today about it.
