Yeah, I’m 1,000,000% certain you’d be complaining daily that they were still here.

They both can suck at being GM

That's what Scandella makes. Has it made a difference having him instead of ennis? Both contracts would end at the same time
- jcragcrumple

Scandella expires this year, Ennis’ would of lasted 2 more years. His buyout cap hit will last a few more years.

Bunch of (frank)ing wussies. Eichel is having an off night and we lose against ottawa. So sick of people collecting the paycheck. And for once im concerned about skinner whoever he plays with nothing work he needs eichel. I thought he was better than that.

I've posted the stats before, but I dont care to go back and do it again.

Murray traded as many picks in 2 years as JB

Losing to Ottawa. Another high water mark for JB

All of this just points to Botterill making the wrong moves in the offseason if he cant make them now. Spent a 2nd for the guy in the press box

Sorry, everyone that I've been the grinch for this whole season. I have just been so disappointed with the GM in the past 9 months.

I'm logging out for the holidays. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and happy new year to everyone

You know what would be cool, if the Sabres had a spare D-man or a decent underperforming prospect they could trade for any kind of forward

Untrue.

Contract would have expired in 18-19

You're going to fill 7 spots with $15m and you expect drastically different results?
- jcragcrumple

Short sighted people have no clue.
$33m looks great, until you do the math and realize they will have about $6m+/- left to play with.
$6m gets a decent player, not a very good 2C, certainly not in FA.

If Botts made a trade for a solid 2C say 25 yo in the coming month or two, does that necessarily mean it is a stop gap move, or could it be an acquisition for now and the longterm?
If a hockey trade was made, is that acquired player then necessarily a rental?

Stay. Be angry at the GM. He’s about as useful as a flaming pile of dog poop.

Tkachuk absolutely owned Eichel all over the ice tonight.

I can't believe that 71 is on an NHL roster, let alone on the ice with less than 3 minutes to go.

Hey! You’re right! What a little ray of sunshine.
I’m sure when the Sabres come back to play Boston twice and Tampa Bay, they’ll be firing on both cylinders.

Skinner and Vesey were very noticeable tonight, don’t even have to look at the analytics to assume they had probably 80 expected goals tonight and a gazillion chances for. However a big goose egg on the board is all that matters.

Eichel had several grade A chances, just didn’t bury.

Swedish Jesus was studly in that 3rd period though. Hope to see more of that from him going forward.

Yup. noticed Olofsson was mysterious invisible that Eichel wasn’t great tonight

Weird. He’s got sooo many points I assumed he could produce on his own.

Maybe someday the coach will wake up and move Sam off line 1 and actually get two lines going

Instead we got 21 minutes of Johansson tonight

I don't now what stats you are talking about. You can say what you want about Botts, never said he hasn't made mistakes, but wouldn't have had to trade some of those picks if we had prospects to fill those needs, which we didn't because they were traded away. But you and yours have a Good Christmas and New Year

Sam was terrible tonight. I don’t think he made a single pass that went to a Sabres player.

I do agree with most of your takes though that don’t revolve around Skinner.

Olofsson-Eichel-Vesey
Skinner-Mojo-Sam

That top 6 gives us the best chance to win with the current roster.
