Cool. 4 years ago. That justifies paying him 9 million for 7 more years for 20ish goals and 40 pts.

Skinner is fine... He needs a capable center to feed him the puck. That's not on him. That's the GM's job. He is light years better the Okposo.

And you are partly right, playing the wings on Eichels line are going to inflate your stats some because Eichel is an elite center. Take away the "Elite" player and everyone else reverts back to the norm, For Skinner that is 30 goals a year and 50 points. I said in a previous post, I'm surprised he has 11 goals so far with Larson as his center.

The problem is everyone likes to equate the salary with results. That is your down fall. The player does not offer himself 9 Mil, OUR GM DID. All Skinner did is sign his name to the contract.

Skinner has been in the league for many years. He is what he is. If he has a good center he will average you 30-40 goals, Larson as his center 20-25 goals.

I mean, when Larson was with Skinner he was contributing positively offensively.

I’m not there yet with him. He has clearly fails the 2c need for 1.5 years. But he’s made some decent moves and rebuilt the pipeline in pretty short order. I’d like to see a move to clear out the d log jam and get some forward help.

I rather see a president of hockey ops hired to help steer the ship a little more. Then continue on the rinse repeat cycle of gm-coach firing... give botts another hockey mind around him.

And we're on the same page here somewhat.

Some of Larson's best offensive play as a Sabre was right next to Skinner. He's not going to make EVERYONE better as some players complement others better than some other players. But........if Skinner can make Larson a larger point producer than he has historically been....what does that say about him?

Johan Larson, think on that.

A agree Botts has made mistakes

Mitts was a bad pic at 7 and played too soon.
ROR trade was not good
Should have solidified a 2c with extra 1st we had

But one thing I will say is this summer is the first clean slate he will have. He is still a smart GM and MAY take advantage of the situation. I say MAY because the verdict is still out. He is our GM and will be our GM this summer so we all have a chance to sing his praises or get out the pitch forks and torches
