it just seems to me botts won't make a move till the deadline. In fact league wide you won't see much done, too many teams bunched up in the standings and will ride it out for a while. - mhp
I want him to make a move, but the right one. Think you are right, to many teams waiting to see what happens, and some with just no cap space |

I just don't see a team trading us a 2C at this time, probably not even this season. You're right, teams are up against the cap and parity throughout the league tells me making any significant move will be difficult. I would think that 2C could come over the summer. |

probably your best bet is to poach a really good 3C in hopes that they can be a 2C from a team that needs NHL D.. is there such a team/player. i don't know |

We already fleeced the Hawks with the Joker trade and Detroit in our division makes a trade tough. I would look to the West if we make a move, still think it won't be anything significant. I wish Botts would do something but he makes me nervous when it comes to trades. Maybe Carolina would be willing to give up Haula. Just spitballing. |

JB needs to find a Zubrus. I would still like to see us poach Bjugstad. Miller and a 2nd. Throw in Erod. I think that's a hockey trade that could work |

Where do you see a 2C coming from in the summer. If it’s a UFA, money and term will have to be big.
If they’re RFA or under contract, which player(s)/pick(s) are going to be enough to wrench one away from somebody?
Too often these Sabre-friendly scenarios involve simply flushing our garbage...plus a 2nd. |

I really don't know other than Pageau. Could we do a trade for a young center and groom to be the 2C or make a deal with an RFA? Maybe. Too many questions and not enough answers. I have no idea. |

For me, I would try two routes. Maybe throwing Mitts, another prospect and a first rounder for say Rikard Rakell or maybe taking a stab and an aging but still productive center that can get you by for 2-3 years. Maybe a player like Claude Giroux or Malkin, big dollars tied up with those players.... I would imagine it would cost you around the same amount or a little more. Maybe Risto, Mitts, prospect and a first. just spittballin

I wouldn't hate Bonino. He can play up and down the lineup. i don't know if he can last as a 2C, but at least he has the experience that our players do not.
Johanson wouldn't be terrible either, but I don't know if they would trade him. |

Give me anyone who has a net impact of 0 and it’s an upgrade to Johansson. |

Filpula (-27) has overtaken Burns (-24) in the race for the green jacket. Athanasiou still holds a commanding 9 stroke lead over his teammate though |

Botts doesn’t get credit for Fallin for Dahlin but will receive the brunt of the blame if the team doesn’t make the playoffs this year. Make up your minds people.
The ROR trade was less than stellar and Mitts is struggling right now but apart from that he’s done a very admirable job.
In 3 years, he’s added Dahlin, Joker, Montour, Miller, Skinner, Mojo, Vesey, that have had a net positive impact on the club.
Cozens, Mitts, Tage, Pilut, Samuelson, Bryson, UPL, Pekar, amongst others are progressing and have a shot of wearing the sweater and providing a net positive impact.
We have a lot of roster flexibility coming up and the two hardest positions to find are locked in long term in Eichel and Dahlin.
Botts needs to find a 2C, that’s pretty much it. Everything else is looking great long term. |

Just five more top ten picks and then we can think about going for the playoffs. |
