Even if they leave Mojo in the middle this gives us the best chance with the current roster

I think everyone is pretty frustrated with the team heading into this mini break. Beating one of the worst teams in the league yesterday could have helped some of that.
Botts has shown a willingness to wait out improving the team until the offseason and that may be happening again. It’d be a shame to throw away a great season by Jack but that could be the lone bright spot in another otherwise mediocre year of watching the Sabres.

I don't think you really got the deep analogy which is not a warrant for a ban because I iterated an opinion that didn't mesh with the Skinner tribe.

Did you report me or something? I let you attacking me fly and besides me making a wisecrack joke could care less and didn't wimp out and report you.

comparing skinner in a conversation to abused people

and you were so bright, you did it twice

I am on my computer doing business work, and checking this in another window

yet your spending the day before christmas defending your dumb post, that you made twice

23 assists is still good. It was the same as

Anders Lee
Kyle Palmieri
David Perron
Anthony Mantha
Brady Tkachuk.

You act like he’s Kaleta

None of them played with jack and cerebral Sam. Rob Ray could have had 10 assists with them at least.

It wasn't about a specific spouse but how abused spouses react either male or female and how some Sabres fans keep coming back for more with blind devotion so quit with the fake consternation. I didn't think you were so soft but maybe when the argument is aganst you, you become snowflake-ish.

I agree partially with the overall argument, not the best choice of analogy though sir.

Rob Ray is on a different low level but I'm glad everything I say matters.

What else do you want to learn about today?

I have agreed with Botts’ patience method and not overspending to acquire assets. However you can’t miss on a top 10 pick.

I have no idea what happened to Mittelstadt, this was a guy who was universally ranked as a top 5 prospect by literally anyone who evaluates prospects. His fall from grace is 50% his own doing and 50% due to Botts’ mismanagement of him. Hopefully he can figure it out but if he doesn’t, that will be Botts’ demise.

- Pegullaville

We don’t know amity’s is a miss yet though
Many prospects, even top10 ones, take a few years to develop into good players

I got A LOT of crap on here for saying i didn’t think Mitts would be a stud right away
But that doesn’t mean he can’t still work out
He seems to have his head on straight,
and be willing to put in the work
So at some point, we should see that talent start to shine though... hopefully

For what it’s worth,
Kris Baker still thinks he’s gonna turn out
Guess we’ll have to wait and see

If he doesn’t...
then yeah, it looks bad on Botts
But if Cozens is a stud,
then i think he is still alright
Was kind of a smart move on his part to double down like that

The entire structure of his team was built on Mittelstadt’s success. If he would have came in and performed like everyone thought he would this team would have the 2C it’s banging the table for and we would be a legit playoff threat.

When that didn’t happen he didn’t have a stop gap option and Mojo is a 3LW playing 2C.

Botts’ method is the proper way of building a team, but if you’re using the draft to add talent and build the right way, you can’t miss on the picks.

- Pegullaville

Or if he just hadn’t traded you know who

Tampa: Point, Stammer, Kucherov
Toronto: Matthews, Tavares, Marner
Florida: Barkov, Huberdeau
Boston: Bergeron, Pasternak, Marchand
Buffalo: Eichel

Then you have players like Krejci, Johnson, Nylander, Skinner, Reinhart, Palat, Debrusk,

The Sabres don’t have the depth nor the high end talent of the teams ahead of them. It’s quite a conundrum.

- Pegullaville

Skinner & Sam are at the top of the list of secondary players at least

So our 9 million dollar player needs another star on his line to produce? He should be elevating the play of our center.

Time to put Skinner on waivers. A few games with Casey in the AHL and that should do it

What the Sabres need now more than anything is someone who can identify and acquire forward talent. Botterill has proven time and time again that evaluating forward talent is not only his greatest weakness - but well below NHL average for a GM.

Berglund, Sobotka, Thompson, Sheary, Vesey, Johansson, Mittelstadt

The Sabres need someone who can clean up Botterill's defensive log jam and identify forwards to help Eichel.

Botterill is unwilling or unable to do the job in front of him. It's time for a change. I hope the Pegulas use the holiday break to think about the disparity between their franchises and come to the needed realization that Botterill has to go.

- jcragcrumple

MoJo is a fine player, just not a good center

And if Mitts & Cozens work out to be good top6 guys, then your whole theory about evaluating forward talent goes right out the window

Guys like Sheary, Vesey, etc weren’t meant to be roster players here when this team is competing for a Cup
They were meant to help us be better now than the previous garbage we had in the bottom6 and were pretending were NHL players
And be a bridge until the young talent he’s been drafting can get here
That’s the only way guys like Berglund & Sobotka made any sense at all
Bc they didn’t fit the type of team Botts said he was trying to build
But they were also much better options than Nolan, Griffith, Baptiste, Bailey, Fasching, and so on

If GMTM knew what the F he was doing,
then we’d at least have had some decent middle6 talent & Botts wouldn’t have had to “band aid” the situation with players that he almost certainly never saw here long term

Botts isn’t building his team around these guys
They’re the bridge to get him to the team he’s building

I get that you’ve lost trust in him
But how good does our top6 look if/when Mitts & Cozens work out?
They’re the ones who are gonna determine what this team becomes
Along with all the young defense he’s brought in & drafted
And the young goalies he’s picked

Those are the guys that’ll determine Botts legacy
Not MoJo, Berglund, Scandella, etc

Pretty much unanimously, everyone on here wanted Botts to build the right way and NOT pull a GMTM with drastic overpayments for trades
Now we aren’t good as soon as we’d hoped,
and everyone seems to want GMTM like moves again

And a lot of names i hear thrown out there aren’t even good players, they’re just ok guys that their current teams would love to get rid of

I almost think they have to bring back either sheary or vesey

and if they move mccabe, they almost have to bring back scandella

I don't see enough help for next season other then cozens, tage and casey
pilut and borgen on the back end

but even borgen is useless when you have Rd risto, montour, miller and joker above him on the depth chart

he needed a better option then johansson as second line center though

we wasted last season with eichel and about to waste this season as well

he needs playoff experience

I mean, you're still here after what has amounted to 50 years of futility correct? Little self reflection maybe? Sounds like you like the abuse as well, but like to "punch back" as if that makes the aforementioned abuse ok. So, in advice, maybe don't be a fan? Don't talk to other fans, or in general, be around the Sabres at all. I mean, if we are gonna use your advice on "how to be a fan". Douche.

And I'll take a ban on that.
