Just five more top ten picks and then we can think about going for the playoffs.

Botts doesn’t get credit for Fallin for Dahlin but will receive the brunt of the blame if the team doesn’t make the playoffs this year. Make up your minds people.

The ROR trade was less than stellar and Mitts is struggling right now but apart from that he’s done a very admirable job.

In 3 years, he’s added Dahlin, Joker, Montour, Miller, Skinner, Mojo, Vesey, that have had a net positive impact on the club.

Cozens, Mitts, Tage, Pilut, Samuelson, Bryson, UPL, Pekar, amongst others are progressing and have a shot of wearing the sweater and providing a net positive impact.

We have a lot of roster flexibility coming up and the two hardest positions to find are locked in long term in Eichel and Dahlin.

Botts needs to find a 2C, that’s pretty much it. Everything else is looking great long term.

If GMTM didn’t do such a terrible job, we wouldn’t have Dahlin, right?

Firstly, that was 2 years ago.

Also, did you put Skinner in the "net positive" category?

The best thing he has done is suck to get Dahlin. The problem is his lack of commitment to not sucking since.

When you're putting Vesey and Miller in the "good" column, you know there's not a lot there

the big issue is, botts went to camp with casey being the second line center

when that didn't work he flipped johansson to be the second line center instead of playing wing

and e-rod flat out sucks

pretty sure the plan was

olofsson-eichel-reinhart
skinner-casey-johansson
vesey-erod-sheary
girgens/sobotka-larsson-okposo

the plan failed and there was no plan b

just like there was no plan for when bogo and montour got healthy on the blue line

to be an nhl gm, you need to have a plan for today, a short term plan and a long term plan

clearly the plan for today failed and there is no short term plan

He didn't think Joker would fall into his lap but he's too stubborn to admit it and trade either Montour or Miller because then it really looks like he doesn't have a plan

Do you think the plan was to make the playoffs this year? Or was this season just a little stop-gap until all the forwards come off the books this coming offseason?

actually the plan was to make a push last season and most certainly get in this season

you don't get montour, miller, johansson and vesey, be strapped to the cap to not make the playoffs

Just to piss everyone off..

Reinhart, Pilut, Tage, 2020 1st
For Larkin

Mitts, Risto, 2021 2nd
For Tuch

Miller, Vesey w/ hold $1.4
For Kapanen

Olofsson - Eichel - Tuch
Skinner - Larkin - Kapanen/Mojo
Mojo/Sheary - Asplund - Sheary/Kapanen
Gurgs - Larson - Okposo

Dahlin - Montour
Scandella - Jokiharju
McCabe - Borgen

Next season, sign Shattenkirk for 2 - 3 seasons to play 1RhD like he is in Tampa next to Hedman.
Don't resign Scandella? Fine, find one in FA.or try Gilmour

- IonSabres

or.....

4th rnd pick
Fippula

who's scenario is more likely???

yours - where we trade 9 assets for 3 top 6 forwards and then sign a veteran puck moving defenseman

or mine

where we trade a bag of pucks for a human bag of pucks?

That's some fantasy world you live in.

I am fine with anything that improves the team at this point. If the goal was to be in the playoffs this year, some pieces need to change.

So he’d fit in on a line with Mitts?

Placing this kind of hope in Casey, while playing not-so-great in Rochester, is not where he was supposed to be at this point. And it hurts his value as a potential trade chip as well.

That's a nice right up, wouldn't be the first good right up on a prospect. And I was just saying what was said on the Rangers page.

I think his plan was that some team would really need a top 4 D man and give up a good forward in exchange.

Winnipeg chose the waiver wire as opposed to paying up.

I don’t think he’s interested in short term fixes.

Whether that plan is flawed or not he’s not going to give up 5 pieces for a guy like Evander Kane who has 3 years til UFA while also taking on a bad contract.

Idk. If he sits on his hands and we fall short theirs something to talk about

Oh I agree, but he's still very young hope he works out. Wouldn't be the first highly rated prospect that failed or didn't hit there perceived ceiling, happens alot in hockey with as young as these kids are when they get drafted
