I’m guessing Cam York was the 7th d ? think I saw him on the ice 5 times. Wasn’t he their highest scoring dman ? A little disappointing ,as I was hoping to see what the Flyers have. Although really liked Bobby Brinks game, I didn’t see an issue with his skating at all.

Your coffee must taste great pretty much every day.

Hayes is probably overpaid a bit, but that’s what happens when you sign UFAs. The cap hit of his deal didn’t bother me much, I was more frustrated by the term. I was really hoping for no more than five years, but it is what it is.

Looking back on it today, I’m very glad they signed the ugly (frank). Who knows when Patrick might return or if he’ll be able to stay healthy and ever reach his potential. Outside of Frost, I don’t see another center in the system with top 6, or even perhaps top 9 potential. Hayes might end up being a key player for the Flyers for quite a while.

Lafreniere is scary good. Thank god there is less than a 1% chance he ends up on the Devils.

York took a penalty in the 2nd period which resulted in the 3rd go ahead PP goal for Canada. I never saw him on the ice or on the bench the rest of the game.

Brink was very impressive quarterbacking the first PP unit from the right halfboards. He just missed by one second, an outstanding setup for the would be tying goal when time expired for the 2nd period. I saw him get beat in a sprint for a lose puck but really no skating issues at all. Excellent puck control.

Caufield was invisible and KA Miller made the bonehead turnover that cost them the game just 8 seconds after the USA came from 2 back to tie in the 3rd. Let’s hope Miller continues to make those kind of plays with the Rangers.

The Devils could turn Ovi into a 53 point a year player. 😴

Wish I could catch the game! How does Brink's skating look?
- GrittySauce

Looks like any problems with his skating were overblown

For those that care, he looked superior to Caufield

He had the highest game score of any of the players who didnt get a point. And he was 1 second away from having an assist. Dude looked absolutely legit out there

Edit: didnt notice he had an assist so scratch the game score thing

York 2:24 TOI

Caufield. 0 points, -2, 17:55 TOI

Brink, 1A, even +-, 12:04 TOI, played much better and was a bigger factor than those stats indicate.

Re: Brink`s skating

The problems weren`t that he doesn`t look quick in close, cornering, or running a Power play... it`s his straight ahead speed used during transition that has been the `knock`on him. Harder to pick that up unless you`re in person I suppose.
