With the Blackhawks shuffling money to the LTIR, I wonder if they're interested in Bogo. Per the BH blogger, they now have $12+ in cap space. Botterill mentioned that he likes working with GMs he trusts. Might be nothing, might be a deal to be made. Getting nothing of value (other than capspace) back would be fine with me
And Cozens secondary PP assists counted exactly the same as the game winning unassisted goal by Lafrieniere at 5 on 5.
I’ll let you figure out which was more important/impressive - sbroads24
Ok, and if Cozens dumps the puck in when he gains the line instead of making a great behind the back pass to set up the play the 2nd goal does not happen.
If Cozens doesn’t win the face off they don’t score the first power play goal.
If Cozens doesn’t cause havoc in front of the net it doesn’t open up the space for Lafreniere to find Hayton for the 4th Canada goal.
2 of those plays he gets a secondary assist, the other play he doesn’t get a point at all. All of them contributed to the score sheet.

Bingo!! Almost as if just looking at the points, and not context or situations or other factors make points as a measure incredibly over rated

I want to play
SO, if lafrieniere scores unassisted on PP its not a GWG?
What if there was a primary assist that appeared to be secondary, just after a PP expired?
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS OF IMPORTANCE - ieetbred
Are we going on hypotheticals or what really happened?
Both teams got a ton of PP time, both teams being really talented scored PP goals, maybe the best player on both teams made a great individual play when everything was even and his team won.

Sure, but there is a reason why top end players accumulate points and have a net positive impact on special teams. Not all assists are talented plays, not all goals are either.

Give me all the best individual players - sbroads24
Right, the ones that score goals
On the PP PK and even strength. They all look the same when the clock strikes 0 and your team is up.
Its interesting. You are a fan of a team who has eichel, who draws a wild amount of penalties (not all of them get called) and you cant see how it might be important to bag a PP goal or two every night?

To be fair, this is a different issue than whether special teams stats should be disregarded.
