Right, the ones that score goals
On the PP PK and even strength. They all look the same when the clock strikes 0 and your team is up.
Its interesting. You are a fan of a team who has eichel, who draws a wild amount of penalties (not all of them get called) and you cant see how it might be important to bag a PP goal or two every night? - ieetbred
There’s a giant difference in what you’re saying, and what my point is
Still like to see what they are gonna due with Strome, he's a RFA, and one thing they do have is some young Centers coming up through there system - Buff36
I'm firmly of the belief you should always take a shot on a former high picks, especially if they can be had for a reasonable price. No idea if he's available, but it would be a good idea if he is. He's having a nice season

To be fair, this is a different issue than whether special teams stats should be disregarded. - Der Kaiser
I’ve never said they should be disregarded
I’ve also never said they don’t matter
I’ve also never said they count differently on the score sheet
What I’ve said is you can construct the special teams debate with on a game by game basis, and unless your team is elite at them, or bottom of the league bad at them, you can stop trying to make them out to be anything more than a few point swing in either direction over the course of the season.
When the Sabres win a game, but lose the special teams battle (happens all the time) they are legitimately never brought up.
When we lose a game 6-2, but score two PP’ goals, they’re never brought up.
Just try and be a good really good team, and good special teams will follow

It would seem blatantly obvious that Montour is who Botterill prefers with his style of play and what he gave up for him, but who knows.
Botterill is the kind of golfer that would be on the clock after the first hole due to painfully slow play. - kingcong39
I wonder if Botts hangs on to Montour & Risto for a bit
It may depend on how Borgen & Samuelsson progress
They play a physical style that could replace Risto
Whereas Montour plays a style more similar to Jokiharju & Miller
And the most ready AHL guy is Pilut,
who’s also more like Montour
Idk that we want 6 of the same style defensemen back there?
Word is,
Miller is supposedly being offered up by Botts now
Setting aside the trade request, Bogo should never see the ice anyway. His hips are clearly shot. He got absolutely walked on the 2nd goal against the Senators. That should serve as the final time Miller is scratched in favor of Bogo. He's just awful. If he wants to complain then just waive him - jcragcrumple
Maybe they’re trying to showcase him for a trade?
But i guess if he continues to look awful it won’t matter/help?

Yeah don't know either, thought he really might be, but with the extra money they have know, according to cap central they were supposed to be right up against it again next year and they had a few other guys they needed to sign. But who knows.
