Put him as the 2nd line Center and leave him there, for good and bad, for the rest of the season. Don't try it for 4 games with bums or for part of a game, give it a real try for an extended period, i.e. the rest of the season.
It'll work or it won't, but either way, at least they'll know. - kingcong39
If they're going to move someone to center, it should be Montour imo. He has the wheels, defensive acumen and can distribute the puck. Obviously they would never actually do it, this isnt the '70s |

imo, he's not getting the most he can out of sam...life's easy with jack at center, especially with the way he's been playing this year...quit babying skunk...let him man up - Michael Pachla
Especially when he's due for a big contract. |

There's a reason the Sabres are treating sam this way.
I'm hoping it's to up his trade value.
Makes zero sense to inflate his stats with jack in another contract year
Play him at center. How much worse can it be? |

Ryan Wilson is speculating a Scandella - Galchenyuk swap.
Not that he's heard anything but to keep an eye on it. |

I'm fairly confident the days of the organization thinking Reinhart's a center are over. Besides, if you move him to center, then Sheary or Okposo would play 1RW which is barftastic.
JB just needs to do his job finally and get a center - jcragcrumple

I speculated that from my couch in the last blog. Lol. Unless Jack has been passing the flu around... that poop is no joke... |

I guess Kruger announced Scandella is sick, but it could also be precautionary with the trade freeze lifting at midnight. |

But is he better than okoposo or sheary?
Olo. Jack. Sstt.
Skinner. Samson. Mojo.
Believe me, I want a center just as much as most. And I’m tired of leaning on the young and unproven in top line situations.
But I have no clue what to expect from botts. I expect the gally move and don’t foresee any major deals outside of that.
Maybe Ralph can ignite Gally into the center he wants to be. Maybe it’s another Vesey or sheary.... which isn’t really good enough. But I guess better than 12 d mean and mojo in the middle. |

Tage's main weapon is his shot (supposedly). I wouldn't want him taking shooting opportunities away from Eichel. He's also a lost puppy in the defensive zone. I dont see a fit with Eichel personally |

Personally, I like the continuous attempts to fire the puck off the glass in hopes of a bank shot goal. I mean why else would a nhl player continue to not attempt to hit the net with a shot. Gotta be some crazy pool shark angles playing in his head. |

Game after game Jack has to throw this team on his back while Botts piles NHL defensemen in the pressbox every single game.
Or he dresses 7 defensemen to cover up for his ineptness.
It literally makes no sense.
The most casual hockey observer can see that this team lacks scoring depth.
The only line that scores with regularity is Jack's.
The young man needs help.
No one is going to tell me that with the glut of NHL defensemen that we have sitting in the pressbox coupled with Borgen and Pilut in Rochester that we can't make a deal for a 2nd line center to help this team?
The Yotes were able to get Taylor Hall??
Even if you have to toss Mittlestadt in there to sweeten a deal, do it.
He's not going to be what we all had hoped he would be anyway.
I could be wrong on him but, I don't think so.
Jack needs help now.
Not when he has nothing left to give because he's had this team on his back this entire season.
How many more years is Botts willing to sacrifice of Jack's prime?
How many more years are old fellas like me expected to continue hearing "next year" being propagandized to the masses?
How many years has it been since this franchise made the playoffs?
Too many is how many! |

for as much as I love skunk on the wing, they should seriously consider dropping that weight on him...put him between skinner and Johansson...it can't be any worse than what we've seen the past six weeks or so - Michael Pachla
Plus, if he fails at 2C that can be a negotiation point going into contract discussions / Arbitration

I'm not sure how the NHL works (actually I am). Two of those three things belong to the coach... But the third.. man that third. |
