Drafting dahlin pushed the "window" back a year, wouldnt you say?
If we took svech, answer solved up front
Picking a #1 overall player with 12 goals in a year and a half is a tough one as well.
You have to be patient with defenseman, maybe that's the plan - Boss34
Sure, could be. Window may not begin to crack open until 2025. I think everyone is going to have to find a lot more patience than they ever thought possible. Eichel might just be a stop-gap until JB's draft picks develop. |

Perhaps Stevie Y knew something 80% of the scouts and drafting community didn’t.
Seider has looked solid this tournament. - Pegullaville
FL wanted one of the top Dmen last draft, Seider being among them. From all I saw and read about him pre-draft, he might even become a Barkov-like sleeper high draft pick. He's going to be a solid NHL defender, and he shouldn't be far away from being ready. He was already playing in German men's league last year. I think he was who Tallon wanted at pick thirteen. |

My patience is wearing thin as well. I go to 3/4 of the games.
The team is more exciting this year. Were not wasting eichel, I'm paying and enjoying his dominance.
Dahlin pushed back the time line, kids a 19 year old defenseman, playing against men.
Svech would have is 5 more wins this season |

Jack Roslovic 38 gp 7 goals 7 assists

I don't think Dahlin pushed it back
remove him and jack, the remaining 16 skaters just are not that good
if you kept ror and kane, and did not pursue skinner my gut says they are a playoff team right now
but you have Joel Farabee type prospect instead of Dahlin
for the long term, team is better off with Dahlin then ror and kane
but right now it's so damn frustrating
between the collapse last season and the one we are watching right now
if botts stays and 3/4 of the ufa's are off this roster it should be ok, I guess
I would trade mccabe now and try to extend scandella for 2 or 3 years
between sheary, vesey, larsson, sobotka, and girgens, I would bring back 2 at the max, and I doubt Vesey would want to stay but he is the player I would most want to keep

If I want to make some money, I'll go drill a gas well.
I don't need to make it in the hockey business. Starting today, there will be no financial mandates on the Buffalo Sabres' hockey department. ... I'm going to make decisions based on winning the Stanley Cup and what is right for the fan base and the team."

Jack Roslovic is stuck behind some players on the Jets, could have been your 2c or Winger
Compher would have been a nice 3C or Winger
Lemieux would have brought some much needed depth and toughnes |

The only one I like is compher, personally. The other 3 are variations of a Girgensons. None of them - including compher - would solve the 2C problem. 3 years later and still blaming GMTM. He sucked, but this is Botterill's team. Feast your eyes on 2C Lockport Larry |

The Sabres as a franchise are within a whisker's width of being grouped with the Bills as being tossed into the I don't give a (frank) pile.
Emotionally, I am just about checked out with them.
As with the Bills, there is/was no excuse for their predictable ineptness, year after year after year.
Stealing money from hard working fans is something that I will never tolerate.
If the Sabres do not turn it around soon, they can kiss goodbye a fan that buys an awful lot of Sabres gear and paraphernalia.
I have closets full of Sabres attire and gear.
Heck,
I have an addition on my home devoted to the Sabres that I did all of the work on myself.
I named my German Shepherd Sabre after them.
But like the Bills, I have not, nor will I ever again spend my hard earned money on them if they don't turn this thing around soon.
Not one cent on anything that has their logo or name on it that they will profit on.
There is no excuse for incompetence.
And the Sabres as a franchise are simply incompetent where it matters most.
If this GM continues to put 3 NHL defensemen in the press box while also having 2-3 NHL ready defensemen in Rochester and does not trade for a 2nd line center to help Jack Eichel....I am done!
Poor Eichel has put this team on his back the entire season thus far.
He needs some fxxking help Botterill you thick headed imbecile.
When is this imbecile going to make a SURPLUS trade?
After Jack is worn out and the Sabres are once again out of the playoff race?
I mean, wtf???
How many more years is this imbecile going to be allowed to waste of Jack Eichel's prime?
Do something soon Botts....or I am out!
Beyond tired of hearing "next year", beyond tired!
After you hit 50, you grow weary of hearing "next year".
There may not be a "next year" for some of us.
Thank God for my Cleveland Indians.
A sports team that wins by development and good drafting.
Not by BUYING Championships like the Yankees and a few others that sign players to $300 million dollar contracts.
So much for the "salary cap" in baseball eh?
I could never support a team that buys titles but hey, that's what makes me, me and you, you.
Puck's on your stick Botterill, let me see what you got?!
Show me that you're not the incompetent imbecile that I believe you are.🤷♂️ |

Botts’ is risk averse. He has been very conservative moving mid round picks for stop gaps. The only long term moves he has made are for Skinner and Montour.
This offseason he needs to be somewhere between where he is now, and drunken sailor TMGM.
We need to purge the bottom 6 of the roster, make at least one solid hockey trade, and go fishing in free agency for a mid tier forward or two . |

They were available at the picks that were traded. So was Sebastian Aho with the 31st pick we gave up for O’Reilly, who went 2 picks later.

That is bullpoop, it is parts of 3 GM'S, and the only reason he brought in some of these players is because he had nobody to take those spots. TM made 22 trades while he was GM, traded away multiple players and picks that could have helped this franchise. There was only like 6 players left that Tm drafted or traded for that have done anything for this Franchise. Botts has made mistakes, but this Franchise was bleed dry from TM trades. TM set this Franchise back years. |

The other is just sitting on his hands |
