Babcock is a fraud. Congrats for winning gold with Team Canada and riding the two best 200 foot centres of their decade in Datsyuk and Zetterberg to one cup with the best defenceman of all time and one of the best wingers of that decade in Hossa.
The Red Wings should have won 4. Guy got out coached by Bylsma for frank sakes.
Keefe is 12-4 with a roster that was crashing and burning under Babcock - Pegullaville
agreed
but throw the money to try to land a trotz or quen
I mean having housley or kruger behind the bench, is not a reason to not try to upgrade the head coach |

Fitz, I said 4 times now:
Soderberg instead of Vesey and Miller.
Buyout Sobotka and use that money for Haula.
Never, ever, not even once did I say Soderberg instead of Mojo - jcragcrumple
And I’ve fully explained that Miller was traded for bc he didn’t know he could get Jokiharju
YOU AGREED
Soderberg has an NTC and u don’t even know if he’d accept a trade here
And that’s besides the argument of whether or not him at 34yrs old and double the Cap hit was a better idea than a 26yr old Vesey who cost half as much
Haula is a decent 3rd liner who isn’t the answer to our 2C problem, and was coming off a year long injury
Your ideas just don’t cut it
Did Botts turn down a reasonable trade for Kadri?
If so... then you’ve got something
Other than that... pretty flimsy arguments at best |

That link proved my point. Elite defence wins. If you want to give Brady credit fine, I guess Brees, Manning, and Rodgers’ fault they aren’t handed a top 8 defence every year. - Pegullaville
Peyton had points defense ranks of 7, 2, 1, 7, 8, and went a combined 2-5 in the playoffs those years, both wins coming the year they lost to the Saints. The year he won in Indy he had the 23rd ranked points defense. And they had the 2nd ranked points offense. I'd imagine he profusely thanks Rex Grossman. |

same guys that said risto was getting moved, right? - homiedclown
I believe that said Risto was available,
not that he WOULD be moved
And u didn’t answer my question...
didn’t u tell us all that Botts was trying to trade for a top6 guy & a bottom6 guy? |

I'm not convinced this wasn't the best course of action after we landed him... Especially at this rate.
If we miss the playoffs by a large margin this season and halfway through next are in the same position, you absolutely consider what's best for the franchise... - U Sir Name
Players of Eichel's caliber, aside from freak injuries of course, stay very productive well into their 30's. |

Even if you want to poke holes in everything else, which I dont agree with, the correct move was to get Haula which could have been accomplished easily and paid for numerous ways, and would have allowed Mittelstadt to start in the minors. JB (frank)ed up. Pretty badly and in numerous ways. Repeatedly |

This is literally year one of Eichel’s dominance on the league. We wasted this year, and most likely last year. However, if Cozens and this years pick become fixtures on the big club then how bad could it really be ? |

if money is no object
and the highest paid coach gets 5 mil a year
you offer him 10 mil a year
double what the leafs give him

Sabres made the best offer
Babcock was going to accept
Wife said no, she wanted to live in Toronto
Had nothing to do with $$$
It was a done deal till the wife had her say

Soderberg is on pace for 22+24 at the center position
Haula is on pace for 30+15
Your blind enthusiasm for the GM is clouding your judgement. He (frank)ed up. That's it - jcragcrumple
It’s been well explained why it’s more than reasonable that Botts passed on those guys

The Bills have the 2nd ranked defence in the league this year and averaged 18 points per game. That equals 10-6 and playoffs. Craziness.
Brady is a top 10 QB all time, but to say he’s the best because he rode Belicheck is just wrong. They were a match made in heaven. - Pegullaville
You think Joe Montana and Bill Walsh weren't? And let's be honest '89 was still Walsh's team. |

Botts had his sites set on a better top6 guy
Not a career 3rd liner coming off major injury
Again... easy to see why he passed |

but it was easy to see why they were passed on this past summer |
