I totally expect him to be a non-factor.
- buffalofan19

Fair enough

I expect more room for our top players. Less fear.

Just buffalo trying to hype up a game for more ticket sales " because a massive history fight will happen "
- gerbe75pts

I don't think ticket sales have anything to do with this. This is John Scott all over again.

he loaded up on d men and expected to move one didn't

his soccer coach is wrecking casey instead of making him better

this is year 3 for botts, and he was suppose to turn this corner

they simply have not

if you think pegula is fine with this result, you might be in for a surprise after they clean out the locker room this spring

- homiedclown

I guess Pegula shouldn’t have forced him to trade one of the top 2Cs in the league

Again, a trade you were on board with if I’m not mistaken

how is casey
e rod
skinner
hutton
mccabe
vesey
sheary
montour
johansson

that's pretty much half the roster

and I probably left off 1 or 2 d men that should be in that mix as well

other then eichel and olofsson, who is really taking the next step after 40 games of kruger?

those others that are, dahlin and joker are not getting much ice time

maybe we can dress 8 d men this weekend to keep bogo happy

- homiedclown

Montour has gotten the poop end of the stick. The GM paid premium RHD prices and he's playing LD, and even LW sometimes which is crazy. And you can say that's a Krueger choice, but it's been done out of necessity.

The LOGgers have benefited. Risto and Scandella as well.

Sheary, Vesey, Erod and Mojo have suffered. It hasn't worked there. I think part of it is lack of centers and part of it is, well I really dont know why. McCabe i think just is who he is and always has been

how did casey progress this season with this coach

I'll hang u and listen

- homiedclown

He should have been in the AHL since LAST YEAR.

The soccer executive benched him, sat him, reduced his exposure, etc. What did you want him to do, play him 25 minutes a night?

Mitts was and is Botterill's failure to this point.

for starter

if money was never an issue, ror would still be a sabre

and there would be a director of hockey ops

and we would not have the rookie gms and head coaches, or some guy from left field that ran a soccer team

you pay for the best
overpay if you have to

the second any great head coach hit the market, pegula should have been on the phone offering that person the most money in nhl history

instead we rotate from one rookie gm to another
one blah head coach to another

drink the koolaid

and wonder 5 years later why eichel has never played in a playoff game

seriously if they don't turn it around in 12 months, he will want out and dahlin will be a few years behind him

- homiedclown

Didn’t they try to do that with Babcock
Can’t force ppl to come here

Also...
Interesting that you’re making a case for Pegs having fault,
when earlier you told me i could only chose to place the blame on the GM or the Coach

Looks like you actually do realize it’s not just 1 person who is to blame
And a lot of it goes back to how GMTM totally decimated the entire organization

We already went through Haula
In hindsight he may have helped,
but at the time it didn’t make much sense
Not for 2C

Soderberg is a 3C as well who’s 34yrs old
I certainly don’t remember anyone being upset that we got MoJo instead of him
Were you, or did i miss that?

- jdfitz77

He's on pace for 46 points at a position we desperately need. He went for basically what Vesey went for.

You can't just throw your hands up and say "nothing could be done." There were names and options. He chose defense

He chose to aim higher than guys that that were 3Cs either coming off a major injury, or that were overpaid & 34yrs old

Again...
I didn’t remember u being upset we got MoJo instead of Soderberg

Botts has been trying to get a 2C
It’s very well known
Can’t force someone to make a decent trade with us though

I don't remember anyone thinking that Johansson was the last forward they would acquire in the summer, either.

I wanted him in rochester last year, which im guessing we can agree on

He hasnt progresed in rochester either, is that taylors fault?

- ieetbred

I'll get back to you once he plays 31 games in rochester

And i don’t think Botts has been “sitting on his hands” either

He just wasn’t gonna do something stupid like bring in Turris for 4 more years, of Henrique, or trade for/overpay Coyle, or either of the Haula/Soderberg ideas

MoJo at 2C until Mitts &/Cozens are ready was arguably a better idea than any of the above

But just bc it hasn’t worked out,
doesn’t mean he should do something stupid out of desperation either
Especially with Skinner hurt

He didnt aim at all

Had he bought out Sobotka like he should have, and used that money to trade for Haula, and traded for Soderberg instead of Miller and Vesey and I bet we're in the playoffs.

He chose to keep bad players, trade for too many d men, and target the wrong wingers.

It's all him at this point. The roster is fundamentally flawed through his doing

Most people said he was talented. He was just too short to impact at the nhl level for any sustained success. He was not going to make it
- SabresFaninIndiana

Theo Fleury is a dwarf, Gerbe just plain wasn't talented enough.

it falls on the owner, the gm and the head coach

when trotz got let go from washington you make him an offer he can't refuse

same for babcock or quen etc

if money is no object

pay them 3 mil per year more then the next highest paid coach

same for the gm, hire the best, overpay to make them come here

or have more meaningless games in march and april with eichel here

No one, and I mean absolutely no one with any credentials will take this GM/Coach Job if they fire these guys.

No one.

Dat spinorama tho

I was thinking about that yesterday when people were talking on the radio about "top-10 plays of the decade"

Gerbe's playoff clinching spinorama has to be on there

It’s ridiculous for you to continue to being up Haula
He was traded BEFORE July1st
Coming off a major injury
And besides 1 good season, was a bottom6 player
Which we already had more than enough of

MoJo was coming off a good playoffs for Boston
And everyone liked the move for the most part

I love how u continue to avoid answering if u said we should’ve gotten Soderberg over MoJo before the season started
But that’s fine, i know u didn’t Captain Hindsight
