No one, and I mean absolutely no one with any credentials will take this GM/Coach Job if they fire these guys.

No one.

They cannot keep going down this path

- sbroads24

they will because it's working for the bills

if he wanted babcock, throw 10 mil per year at him

etc

I mean money is no object

didn't stop him from paying johansson

he missed half the games from the previous two seasons

- homiedclown

Was coming off a good playoffs,
not missing almost the entire season like Haula

Anyone can see the difference there

It’s ridiculous for you to continue to being up Haula
He was traded BEFORE July1st
Coming off a major injury
And besides 1 good season, was a bottom6 player
Which we already had more than enough of

MoJo was coming off a good playoffs for Boston
And everyone liked the move for the most part

I love how u continue to avoid answering if u said we should’ve gotten Soderberg over MoJo before the season started
But that’s fine, i know u didn’t Captain Hindsight

- jdfitz77

Jesus, Fitz, read what I wrote.

Soderberg instead of Miller and Vesey. Not soderberg instead of Mojo

FFS, I wrote it 3 times.

And Haula was a good idea, and Sobotka should have been bought out. You're just looking for excuses for the GM and failing miserably

87 regular season games in the last 2 seasons

haula played 91 regular season games in the last 2 seasons

haula is also .5 ppg in playoffs

johansson and his good playoff was .5 ppg , lesser numbers before last season

So Botts gets a pass for his mishandling of Mitts?

Got it.

He did?

Singlehandedly?

Dang. How come 30 other NHL teams weren't lining up for our Claude Lemieux?

And Miller is more hindsight bc he didn’t know he could get Jokiharju at the time
You’ve even admitted as so

And 26yr old Vesey, over 34yr old Soderberg isn’t ridiculous
Especially since he’s half the Cap hit
And Soderberg has a NTC
So u don’t even know that he was ever even an actual possibility

And regardless of what you wrote,
in Botts mind,
he chose MoJo & Vesey over the guys you’ve mentioned
U act like they were no brainers
But they were far from it

Honest question, does Erik Haula make us a contender?

The point is, there were options, despite your contention to the opposite. He made this roster. His decisions. And who knows what other deals are available that he passed on in favor of his defensemen?

You're operating under the assumption that he only makes - and would make - good deals. That assumption is suspect at best based on his track record

We shall see how he works out, but Rochester was 58-31 when he played and like 31-44 when he sat, he creates space, which the Sabres need

Sure, let’s say playoff contender. Let’s operate under that assumption

This roster is sooooo bad, that Erik Haula, perennial 3rd line center, who’s shooting a ridiculous 24% this year (which he more than likely doesn’t do here) makes us a playoff contender?

So which is it? Is the roster just so poorly constructed that we need so much or are we just one piece away from beginning to contend for the playoffs on an annual basis?
