For the sake of argument,
I’ll use your wording
If Bogo looks “passable” again this year,
wouldn’t that make him more tradable?
And yeah, it was common opinion that Dahlin made Bogo look better
But look how Dahlin struggled for much of this year with different partners
Maybe those 2 just click for whatever reason
So if we are gonna play Bogo,
let’s put him in a spot where he can potentially be successful, or “passable” if that’s the exact wording you need
Can always break up the pair if it doesn’t work - jdfitz77
Because I'd rather Bogo simply not play (the league knows precisely what he is) and have Dahlin play with someone who makes each of them better, instead of throwing Bogo out there to be at best satisfactory.

IDK man, he looks shot so far this season, slower, won't play physical.
I'd think they get a conditional 5th or 6th at most from my eye test only. - IonSabres
I agree he doesn’t look good this year
That’s why i think it’s worth taking a shot at what looked better last year
If it doesn’t work, no biggie
Break them up & play him less |

In a time that we need points to have a hope of competing in April, I don't want to take a massive swing for an inevitable miss. |

Idk who u think that is...
But it’s not crazy to say that Dahlin looked his best when paired with Bogo last season
Unless they look so horrible together that it costs us games, then Idk what’s wrong with that logic?
Bc they can always be split up if it just isn’t working well
It’s not like i think Bogo is great
But it makes sense to put him in a spot where he will look his best
That gives us the best chance to move him ASAP

Since we’ve seen it work for most of last year,
I’d say the evidence is opposite to your opinion above |

I'll give in to the concession that they played well together last year.
Bogo isn't playing nearly the same as he was last year. Bogo is a shell of his former self, and likely isn't playing incredibly inspired since he's asked to be moved.
I don't see how a player who is less than 80% of what he was last year will equate to similar results.

logic dictates the sabres need to continue to show an established players ability because professional scouts and organizations don't know his capabilities. |

If Luni is lurking around here he might be able to answer that.
But it's unnecessary, without getting into specifics.
And yes he should. They're undecided if he's going to play tomorrow night, but I bet he will. - TheSabresTaco
The big benefit of emergency recalls is that they bypass waivers, assuming they they are short term (which they are meant to be).

Sadly, I get the idea pilut is getting played to up his trade Value. Especially playing 1st line minutes.
If were looking for a 2c, its gonna involve players we like and probably do not want to move. |

Agreed.
To get something of value, you have to give something of value. The better the return, the more it hurts.
If we have to lose a Pilut for a legit 2C, then by all means make the move. |

Wait....so we can't just throw KO, Bogo, and Sheary out there for a 2C and a first? |

I'd say pilut might be a difficult guy to protect with the Seattle expansion draft.

I would be genuinely shocked if they moved Pilut. They really like him.
If it were me, I'd use every single contract on this team but 2 to acquire the right players. |
