That's why my proposal included sending McCabe to Toronto for Kapanen. Toronto wouldn't miss Kapanen's offense and could definitely use McCabe. Kapanen is 9th in even strength TOI for the Leafs.

And then we could potentially re-sign him,

Let me answer it like this. If it comes down to yes to Nick Bonino or nothing at all, I'd say nothing.

I haven't invested time into who, exactly, should fill that role or what team would be interested in giving up their 2C.

I suggested as a fan proposal to go after Trochek. Numerous factors, uncluding youth and injury history, may let the Panthers trade him. He's a true 2C.

Remember seeing Kelly at the Pier a few times, he was (frank)ing hammered. I used to live over by the Stadium on Wolf Rd growing up and played baseball with a bunch of guys that lived of off Jewett Holmwood, we went up to Eagle Heights one night and Kelly was having a Big Party at his House. We actually walked right into his house and tried to go downstairs but we got escorted out by some security guards.
