I am saying the Sabres have tried the same approach since Darcy’s drunken spending spree. And the young gm with recycling coaches simply isn’t working in conjunction with Peg’s meddling. So it’s time for a new approach. Put someone above botts, that knows hockey. I’m fine if it’s Ralph. And I’m even fine if Botts and Ralph simply promote Taylor and replace smith. Not that Taylor has won anything in Rochester, yet. I’m also fine if they bring in Lavi or hell bring back Lindy at this point.
Just give me a structure that puts Pegula an arms length away from meddling and let hockey people do hockey things...

The upcoming TDL, they will will jettison a couple/three pending UFA's
In the Offseason they
- sign a couple of their RFA's in Reinhart and Larsson
- make a couple hockey trades for a 2C and 3RW
- draft the BPA at Forward with their 1st, which could be a top 7 selection

If that’s his plan he should be fired for signing Skinner then. Should of been trading him at trade deadline last year. His contract looks horrible already, can’t imagine what it will look like in 2-4 more years. Okposo all over again

There is some pretty solid proof that patty wanted to stay the course and rebuild on the fly... pegs wanted it rushed.... we also know pegs didn’t want to pay the ror bonus to up the return on said player.
And when the owner hires a first time gm after hiring a first time gm and doesn’t put the support structure behind that gm to help guide him along the process of building the team.
After 3 gms and what, 5 coaches, maybe the owner isn’t putting the team in the proper position for success. So stay the course, it’ll be fine... don’t hire an experienced hockey guy to come in and help.... they have it under complete control.
