Do you now how long it,can take to rebuild when there is nothing. Tim Murray takes over Buffalo had the 2nd ranked prospect pool, Tim Murray gets let go, and Botts takes over the 26th ranked prospect pool - Buff36
Two of Murray’s three top picks were in the NHL after a year dropping that ranking. He wasted a lot of picks trading but two holes on this team are a #2 Center and goalie both who have been very good the last two years who Botts just gave away. Botts takes blame for that |

I’ve been saying it and it will remain true
Until the team starts hitting home runs (like Olofsson) in the draft, we won’t be a true contender.
The team we played last night has like 8 dudes drafted after the first round making an impact - sbroads24
I think that understates things. We drafted 4 forwards in the top 10 recently (too soon to include Cozens), and have 1 difference maker in our lineup from it.
I listed the middle round picks, we couldn't find bottom 6 guys.
I don't see how we are supposed to trade our way out of this, when we struck out so badly.

Allen is having one if the best seasons of any current nfl qb. Check the stats and the playoff position.
I just dont get the allen bashing. Hes a 2nd year guy, playing solid football. 3 good games- wake up
Oh, a couple rumor mill guys said something.
You take it as fact.
That says it all. - Boss34
When tsn and sportsNet guys like Friedman, Lebrun, and dreger have the same reports. Yes, I 100% believe botts has been trying to make a trade.
As for Allen his “stats”
Allen: 3,089 yards passing 20 tds and 9 ints That is not even close to “one of the best seasons of any nfl qb”.
That’s laughable.

you said he had 3 above average games
which is false
7 games last season he had a qb rating 12 points higher then average
there is more to football then the stats on the back of the bubble gum card
he won 10 out of 15 games
then in the 5 losses
pats, pats, ravens, browns
he had a chance to get the tying or go ahead score (tech not in the first pats game where they knocked him out with cheap shot)
so his only bad game, vs the eagles, he had an o coach that wanted him to throw in 50 mph winds instead of run
but continute |

if botts has a secure job with the sabres, the last thing he should do is make a big splash
sell off assets and build the pipeline
the time to make a splash was a month ago
if his job is on the fence, he needs to make montour like trades, but ones to improve the offense |

Let's agree on one thing here jcrags:
One of the worst moves jbotts has made, is signing a guy to 2 million $. That same guy has 0 goals.
Same guy is undermining his teammates like a snake in the grass. Just like bogo right? Not being supportive, demanding a trade. What a joke.
That is your favorite player.
And you criticize jbotts 😀
Constantly - Boss34
You must have missed the part where I said JB should waive or trade them both. The team can't have malcontents.
And yes, all of these situations are JB's fault. He runs the team. Team sucks and the players are in open revolt.
What a job, JB. At least we have 12 defensemen |

Attention JCRAGS:
Solid work as usual by #Sabres game pres staff to spotlight ERod on the jumbotron as he's standing around in warmup not taking line rushes and two hours after his trade request surfaces. Way to have a feel for what's going on. Gotta finish the year strong.
Happy new year.
It just keeps getting worse. Erod doesnt score a goal all season, requests a trade and now: displays his true colors as a bad teammate.
Could you please compare bogo and erod in your own words. This seems worse then bogo....who you killed in weeks worth of postings. - Boss34
You have a problem.
You got your wish last night, and if anything it was MORE dirty than ever! Face punchers are not the answer. Yeah, it's entertaining. You know what's more entertaining? Scoring goals, winning. I'll take that Eichel goal over a fight any day of the week, and I like fights. |

Allen is at 193 yards per game this year. That is very low and is yet to have a 300 yard game.
The loses are a better indicator where Allen is at. Beating the dolphins, red skins, bengals, and teams that were tanking tells me nothing about Allen at QB.
I think Allen has a long way to go ..... most people here think he’s good.
My goal for a franchise qb is to get an elite QB. I do not want to watch 5-6+ years of Andy dalton. Joe Flacco or an average qb.
Many other people’s opinion is: hey he’s good Enough
That is a loser mentality. That’s like the Sabres tanking and ending up with Strome thinking he’s “good enough.”
Strive for better .....
I don’t think Allen is a bust. I just think he has a long long way to go and he hasn’t shown any strides to getting better
Barely 3,000 yards in a pass first league where the rules are help the passing game. That is not enough for me to say Allen is good or projecting well

But TIM MURRAY!!! - Wetbandit1
And again, put Dahlin and Joker in that list (as 95% of the league's defensemen don't sniff a regular spot at 20 years or younger), and that ranking jumps 10 spots, easy. |

52 to 58% completion % ..... that is still low for an nfl starting QB.
But hey. He loves buffalo. So they goes up 10% just because of that I guess |

Fixed it for you.
However Allen has improved this year though from last year.
I think this season is a failure though without a playoff victory, would be a waste of the 2nd best defence in the NFL this year. |
