Ya. $8m - $9m ?
I don't think so. - IonSabres
You've easily got the space for it, and I'm not sure adding a guy like Dadonov or Hoffman if the way to go, especially with them in their 30's now.
I just think if there's a guy available that can actually help carry the load on defense and provide strong leadership, he's the one. |

Fair enough.
I'm in the same place, but fall to the side of giving him the green light...but very nervous about it along the way. - IonSabres
No reason not to feel that way. I consider myself relatively high on the optimism scale, but saying you absolutely trust Jason to succeed is foolish at best. |

They'll never let him go. But let's say the Sabres become real suitors. Do I take Pie over any of the other players I listed.
No doubt in my mind. But he's also 30 and you're giving this guy a max deal. |

Yeah.. realistic targets, try to get Hoffman, maybe Vats, maybe Kreids, maybe Toffoli, maybe Muzzin, maybe Dadanov, Dillon, JGP, Haula, Nieto, Leivo - TheSabresTaco
as much as I'd like to say Haula will be re-signed, I doubt the Canes will be able to afford to keep him. He's a good bet. |

Sabres recalled Scott Wilson. - mhp
VO injury?
Why not just play Erod?
Unless they have another trade in the works sending player out. |

Gotta think it has something to do with the VO injury. It could also mean that ERod is gone. |

Wilson could easily be the extra. They wouldn't mind calling up Wilson to sit him. They would (should) care about calling up and benching a prospect or a young guy. |

Per CF-
We have 14 forwards rostered rn. Frolik isn't here, Dalton Smith will be in Rochester and Wilson will be here. Olofsson is DTD at best. Leaves you with 12 active forwards. You need to play at least 11 of them, so Erod or Wilson sits. Once Olofsson returns, Frolik will probably be here. You're back to 14 with the demotion of Wilson. At 14/7/2, that's 23 players, max roster. You can demote Tage when he returns (if you want to) and Lazar once Skinner comes back (if you want to). Do you need to trade Erod, ever? No. But, ya should. For cap space. And keep Lazar. |

He also made some dumbass comment last year about how his demotion wasn't permanent and they definitely want him back in Buffalo. He's definitely a Wilson guy, going back to Pitt. But he could have just as easily allowed him to be the first man up and either not signed or kept Lazar down. Or Asplund. |

Apologies if I’ve overlooked this detail. However, it’s noteworthy Frolik waived his no trade clause to join the Sabres. Understood he wants a fresh start, but he must like his chances of being an impactful player in Buffalo. |

But players don’t wanna come here. it may be the Ralph effect. it’s the second player to waive to come here. Now move out the stiffs... |
