I believe what 89 says, but I don't think he's unwilling to trade Ristolainen. I think he's overly patient and gun shy from the O'reilly deal.

That is what I believe will ultimately be his undoing, if he is fired.

A lot of getting your build right is timing and the Sabres always seem to be too quick or too late.

I agree with you my friend, my uncle's friend with the Sabres had a 1 on 1 talk with Eichel a couple days ago about a lot of that. Eichel know's, you see how bad his hands were shaking after we lost to Tampa.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Eichel doesn’t ask for a trade soon. A year or so or sooner. Only so much a person can take mentally and physically.

It’s almost killing the kid. Based on previous years actions with breaking the locker room and sitting in a full uniform after games and stuff like that.

89 I think the biggest issue is this... Botts sat on his ass throughout the offseason and did nothing to help this team.... Of course this season is very much in jeopardy and no major moves can or will be made at least until the playoffs are done. but this past offseason was a total waste...

Miller. Vesey and mojo were all solid adds. The problem is they are being played in different part of the lineup where they weren’t meant to play

Vesey should stick to 4th line and PK duties

Mojo 3rd line duties

Miller 3rd pair d

The analytics don’t take into account a players change of role.

Because all of those players based on where they played on previous teams. Had good advanced stats.

Think of Shattenkirk. Once he was with the rangers.

On the blues he was the 2 pair guy. On the rangers he sucked as the number 1 d.

Stuff like that matters but you can’t judge it

Usually, it's too late outside of when Farcy hit the lottery with the Briere trade and the rules changes.

I believe this will be his undoing. Im fairly certain they could have gotten something of use for Risto 6 weeks ago and flipped that for a forward.

Way back when they weren't some 5 or 6 points behind and like 8 teams to chase. (also be fore they lost all those games to division rivals)

Thing is, Risto and Montour have both been pretty valuable in Krueger’s system, and I think they are banking on the blue line being the strength of the team until some forwards are ready.

Sabres are putting all the eggs into 5 on 5 players and banking on special teams going in ebbs and flows.

I don’t dislike the strategy.

I also don’t think you can get a Ehlers type forward for Ristolainen right now
