Going to be hard for me to get optimistic about the offense improving next year if all we do is draft a wide receiver.

Daboll needs to go for me. The team can't score points. 19 today was the most they scored in a loss this year. 20 is almost insurmountable.

Allen obviously is here for the long haul, so bringing the whole gang back and hoping a rookie receiver is the answer just won't cut it.

The Texans know what kind of team they are, with Watson having 25 pass attempts, while Allen had 46.

Sure seems like the Bills are often going with the baptism by fire approach with him.

I am proud of the Bill's, they have a nice core to build around, a lot of Cap Space to fill some needs and enough draft picks to help. Mistakes were made yesterday, but this young team got a taste and will get better.

Forget everything else for a sec ... the one thing I can't get past is Allen's 22 missed passes last night. That's just ... awful. Gutsy performance, but he's just not good enough. Almost there, but not quite yet. Will he get there ? Who knows.

Why is he passing the ball 46 times when they have Singletary running well? Why is Gore getting 8 rushing attempts compared to only 13 for Singletary? How can the defense not stop a 3rd and 18 on a check down throw?

Plenty of questions to be asked.

One thing I'll note, which Wetbandit has in the past, is that at least a few of Allen's incompletions each game seem to be throwaways. That was the case yesterday as well.

He'll never be the most accurate passer, we know that. I'd expect for him to level off in the low 60% area.

That said, he put the ball in the endzone for William's, and put the ball there for Brown on the sideline for a inbounds catch. That is an additional 10-14 points. Those plays were critical failures by his receivers. It's likely a different discussion today if those two did their job.

It would've helped if the O line blocked anyone for most of the 2nd half, and the OC called more running plays for Singletary.

Plenty of reasons they lost.

- kingcong39

Watson’s o line was garbage last night and he did just fine.

Allen’s o line sucked the 2nd half and it’s the o lines fault

The reality of the situation is ...... the offense can’t stall out for extended periods of time.

Week 1 jets - offense didn’t start moving the ball until the 2nd half

Week 2 bengals - offense was iffy all game and the defense saved the O

Dolphins game - the offense was stopped all 1st half

Giants game in the 3rd quarter didn’t move the ball at all.

Steelers game the offense didn’t get going until late in the game

Texans game. 2nd half just stalled out.

Eagles / ravens / patriots game. Never got going

Allen’s best games were the away dolphins, red skins, and the cowboys.

O lines fault ...... on all of those games too.

It’s a mix of daboll and Allen.

Or maybe McDermott told daboll to go conservative.

Next year ....... go for the kill and crush the team 42-0.

Either way. Don’t ever let up

Watson did just fine in the 2nd half, because he did absolutely nothing in the first half. Let's not act like one guy was great while the other guy stunk.

Seeing debate from non-Bills fans about the blind side block rule. So, technically it was a blind side block, but usually a blind side block results in the unsuspecting blocked one leaving his feet in a violently spectacular manner. This guy saw the blocker before contact (blind?) and bounced right off of it. Total horse poop call, where Common Sense says it wasn't a dangerous cheap-shot type of block that the rule is meant to eliminate. Technically, it was a blind side block, ok....but then, technically it's a live ball if kick returner doesn't kneel down before tossing the ball to the ref. Technically, the ref made the right call ruling it a TD for Buffalo. Common sense selectively applied.
Despite all that, they still blew that game. They let it slip away. They fukking had 'em 16-0. Dammit

Watson won the game ...... Allen did not.

Getting 6 points in the 2nd half and stalling out should not be acceptable. Read my post. It happened on a weekly basis for extended periods of time

The NFL tonight crew crushed the officials as the rule says that's a touch down re: the 2nd half kickoff. They went by rule on the tuck rule when common sense said it was a turnover. Why is the rule not followed this time?

Your posts are bordering on nonsense. You claim to be fair but pull the trigger on Allen noise 100% of the time.

You take the good and bad with a young QB. The Steelers weren't stupid enough to have Big Ben throw the ball 46 times when he was a young QB and they went to the Super Bowl.

Its non sense that the offense literally stops moving and goes 3 and out for long extended periods of time?

The offense stalling out last night lost us the game. Not sure what game you watched.

6 points in the 2nd half ....... the fumble (he should’ve had 2) and your 3 and outs

Mean while when the going gets tough. Watson kills your “elite defense” and wins the game

If you are okay with 6 points when it matters most. Fine. So be it. You accept mediocrity.

It’s fine. I understand

Allen made mistakes, he definitely needs to improve in area's, Singletary should have been running the ball down there throats, he was a bull yesterday, in no way should Allen have thrown the ball 46 times. And the defense played a good game, but you can't allow that 3rd down conversion and both 2pt conversion.

All of the above is accurate. To lay the loss solely at the feet of Allen is nonsense and agenda driven.

Why does Singletary only having 13 rushing attempts all game? Why does Gore have 8?

It’s not my fault I want an elite QB..... and you are okay with Andy dalton type.

It’s fine. Allen is the Best Bills qb since drew Bledsoe. But he needs to do more.

Fans have low expectations. I have higher expectations

The Denver broncos rookie QB put up 300+ yards and 3tds vs the Texans 27th ranked d

So I don’t want to hear about Allen is young excuse.

Maholmes. Watson. And other “young” QBs are doing just fine

It was a Tale of Two Halfs.
-Bill's won 1st half by 16 points,
-Texans won 2nd half by 16 points

Texans won the OT by 3

Josh and the Offense were a roller coaster, as they were for most of the season.

And yet, again, he pur 2 balls where they should have been. His receivers failed, leaving 11 points on the field.

The whole team sucked in the 2nd half...him, hisreceivers, O-line, D line, White, D-coordinator, O-coordinator.
To single him out seems like you have an agenda

From the Panthers blog:

"Trade Hoffman now for a decent defenseman and find someone to take Vinny as well."

Any chance the Panthers GM feels similarly?

If so, get on the phone Jason!!

- kingcong39

Lol, you see things on Panthers forums like,
"Our 2C is killing us." "The GM is clueless." "We need a better 2C." "They need to shake things up." "We need a change at GM." "This team is so soft!" and, of course, there's the
"Do something, Dale!"

Trocheck is still finding his way back after broken ankle last year and foot injury this year. His skating isn't yet what it was and his whole game stems from there. They're not moving him, as they have no one who they could rely on to play in his spot. Hoffman may be another story, a ufa that I don't think they will re-sign. His main contribution is on the PP, and while no one else has that wicked shot like Hoff, they have other PP weapons. He can't hit the broad side of a barn right now, anyway. The scattergun shot, his giveaway "passes" added together with his rather untenacious style has many fans down on him now. They may see what defensive help they can get for him, idk.

I seems to me that saying "Why did they put so much on our young QB?", and then in the next breath saying "Why didn't they give it to our rookie RB more?" might be slightly hypocritical. Not that I really care. I'm a Falcons fan.

Fair assessment. I've watched several Panthers games, not a ton to be an "expert", more casual...but Hoffman has not impressed me. Trocheck does look so what hesitant.
