For the time being with the injuries ..... I can see frolik in our top 6. Heck even after I can see him on the 2nd line. Sobotka replacement

Botts isn't a rental guy, nor should he be. Anyone he grabs of significance is going to have years on their contract or RFA rights. If he snagged a high end pending UFA, which is probably close to 0%, you better believe there's interest in re-signing.
- TheSabresTaco

What in the what? He just flipped a rental for a rental and traded for jimmy "rental" vesey. That was the largely the crux of the defense of Botterill not doing anything for the 1st three months of the season: "Botterill isnt interested in short term fixes." That turned out to not be true. He continues to fly by the seat of his pants like Johnny Knoxville strapped to rocket skates

Tage didn't make the team out of camp, "Sobatka" sucks copious amounts of ass and should have been bought out, "Olloffson" has missed 1 game, and Skinner, yeah skinner hurts, but were in a tail slide well before he got hurt.

I wanted Lazar to make it out of camp. He was good in the preseason.

Now we've replaced "Sobatka" so yayyyyy, go Botterill.

When you look at the number of posts here vs every other thread on the front page combined, you have to wonder what's going on.

Technically you're right, but that's not what I'm really talking about here.

He's not the '1st for Taylor Hall' guy. All his rental pickups were from mid picks and other rentals.

I'll clarify. He won't use significant assets on rentals.

The 4th round pick could have been a 3rd round pick if not for the horse I rode in on.

I’d consider resigning rental Vesey. He’s been solid as of late. Good on the pk with a few shorty opportunities...

I wouldn't mind bringing him back either, but he doesn't deserve more than 3m (or even 2.5). That's why he probably ends up walking. We're not in position to overpay for 3rd line guys on multi-year deals.

Oooohhhh. Good question. He is currently at 2.28... I’m horrible with celery but I’d want to be under $4... I’d be good with $3... I’m thinking he finds his scoring touch again as well.
