Sounds like you're blaming structure when your real problem is with JB. He has a whole staff.

According to Dennis Bernstein on twitter said the Sabres scouted the kings and are regulars scouting the kings.

Toffoli seems about right.

And before that it was gmtm’s fault. He just had to rush it... before that it was Darcy’s fault, the chains were off! Write them checks Darcy! Oh, and Russ Branden even had a hand in the Sabres until he didddled his way out the door, finally!

At the end of the day, it’s a dog poop structure put in place by an inexperienced ownership couple that’s probably spread too thin between all their endeavors.

Hire hockey people to do hockey things! Period!

Nope, but I can see failure before jb, and before tm, and when Darcy went on a drunken shopping spree...

Botterill has way more "pull" and a"voice" then Darcy ever had. Pegula respects Botterill and trusts him. When you come form a winning organisation like Pittsburgh, it speaks volumes.

Kovalchuk would've been fun for a few games...

At 700,000 it's a steal, GM of the year signing him for 700,000. He is exactly what we needed.

Appreciated... but do you think botts needs a little guidance to smooth out the rough edges?

Apparently Pegula does not think so that's why LaFontiane is not here. Botterill answers to Pegula and that's it.

Got a little inside this morning
After Christmas, Botts reached out to Scandella's agent and asked if they were open to a 1 year extension, agent said no

Botts is pleased with Asplund and Lazar

If the Sabres play well this week, there might be more help coming, a bigger fish or 2

- homiedclown

Makes sense
Scandella had been pretty good this season
But after last year’s disaster,
Botts couldn’t go more than 1 year with him

one good thing that happened this weekend, Bills moved up in the draft with the Titans winning

I am not for getting a WR in the first round, but if Justin Jefferson fro LSU is there

I'd even consider moving up a few spots to make sure they get him

- homiedclown

Jeudy will be long gone
The order the next 5-7 guys go in is anyone’s guess
With the way WRs drop in the draft lately,
we might be able to get a really good one in R2
Although if we are going offense,
I’d want Dobbins (rb) from OhioSt in R2
If they want Singletary to split time,
might as well have him split with another game breaker

It just doesn’t make sense to me

Is he a decent player? Yeah
But he’s a rental
And if he’s not a rental, and we wanna keep him,
that’s gonna cost a contract something like
7yrs & 7mil per (or more)
That’s what Kevin Hayes got

I just don’t think it’s a good idea to devote that type of Cap to Toffoli

I think we have room to add 1 more 7mil + guy
And i think it needs to be a better player than Toffoli

Kovalchuck for 700,000, I don't see the negative. We should have signed him.
- SABRES 89

Yup but Montreal has quite the Russian subcolture.

700,000 for Kovalchuck, guess Botterill was making popcorn.
- SABRES 89

I’d have paid a tad more to get him honestly.

Still not a pending UFA. Had an entire year left with full intentions of re-signing. But, he's as close as you get to the argument. Just saying, don't expect him to cough up a 1st for a pending UFA at season's end.
