Krueger seems like a players coach, and the team seems to buy in, but he also doesn't seem to have any urgency in making the team better.

I don't know what's being said behind closed doors, but I don't think he's throwing things around the locker room to get his point across.

Who says he needs to throw things? And who says he has no urgency to improve?

If he didn't give a poop, he wouldn't change lines. I promise you, he gives a poop.

The year after the lockout where we had Numminen, McKee, Tallinder, Lydman, Kalinin and Campbell? Soupy is the only one that supports your claim. Pilut's size in itself isn't the issue. The issue is we have too many dmen on the smaller size. Watch the playoffs anytime and you'll see it's not a bygone era. Having the mentality of it being a bygone era is why our team is so soft right now.

Which one of all the defensemen you mentioned above was considered physical and could clear the front of the net.

McKee was it.

He's made a ton of noticeable adjustments. Is he overly reliant on some veteran/safe players? Yes, but so is every single other coach in the NHL.

All the adjustments not panning out does not mean he didn't make them.

team had better special teams under housely

housley had common sense to yank a goalie when getting shelled

housley could use a time out when game was slipping away, instead of waiting for the last 2 minutes

housley used skinner properly

casey played better under housley

and he has a hotter wife

stay tuned for part 2

I should have clarified.

I don't know what people expect of Krueger. I don't think he's the type of coach to jump through walls, or throw things in the room, to get his point across. Nor do i think he needs to. The reference to him being a players coach, is that he does what Murray asked of Bylsma; he gets to know the players and has a cup of coffee with them. I think he is able to relate to the players because he knows about them.

he seems more along the lines of McDermott.

I'm sure Krueger has moments of frustration, but his presentation to the media is always even-keeled.

*You're right on the special teams

*The Mitts point is highly debatable. He was a -19 and .32 PPG with Housley

-5 and .29 PPG under Krueger. I dont think you can say that's better or worse.

*The Skinner conundrum is real. Olofsson isnt a ROY candidate if he's on the 2nd line. Krueger made a calculated decision to spread out the scoring. Unfortunately Mojo got hurt, got cold, then skinner got hurt. Also the goddamn GM owed him a real 2C

*The goalie pulls and time outs are nitpicky imo.

*Housley's wife seems like a nut case. Good riddance to them both

Also I think Krueger deserves some credit for implementing a system that allows a winger to play center with a decent amount of success - i.e., not a Leino level of failure

Also for playing a 40 goal scorer on the 3rd line with a 5 th line center, you can't find coaches with that kind of knowledge everyday.

I addressed that in the previous post. It was largely out of his control based on the roster he was handed. If he had played Olofsson on the 2nd line and he had mediocre production, we're largely in the same place.

He took a calculated gamble that his $9m winger could prop up a makeshift 2nd line. It may be fashionable to blame him, but just because it didn't work, that doesn't mean it was the wrong call
