Great point but to deaf ears.... Nobody seems to pick up on the fact that the Sabres are a train wreck when it comes to player development....
- rapperray

That's fair Ray and they haven't done a good job. I think Botterill and Sexton are changing that. The other thing is drafting. There are countless examples over the last 10 years that we misfired on picks. I think that's the larger issue.

We have had multiple 1's (at the same time) over the past decade that could easily have been packaged for a bonafide nhl top end talent.

I’m fine with door #3 as long as it happens in May and after we have secured another top 10 pick.

Let the new GM and make the Risto/Montour+ trade that has been needed to be made since July 1st and sign an impact player in FA and this team is off to the races.

The one trade that I really wanted Jbotts in on was the Kadri trade. I would of given a first & Risto+, and even retained some Salary for Kadri. that is the exact player you need on this team.

I'll answer it this way. Pegula chooses #1, I would lean towards 3 and let the new GM decide on Kruger, most likely Kruger goes upstairs. I've always felt Kruger was a stop gap coach who was heading into a different role at some point.

One thing everyone is forgetting.... Yes I agree they need an influx of talent but they have brought in players before and still they have the mentality of a child who runs when adversity hits. THAT is what needs to be changed. Teams have been competitive with less talent than the Sabres but this team collapses at the drop of a dime.... The CULTURE needs to be fixed.

And if we are looking at new GM's, I would seriously look at Norm Maciver in Chicago, provided Stan Bowman doesn't get fired. If Stan Bowman gets let go, he would be an interesting option as well.

I think you hit on it.
I'm behind keeping Krueger, but his Assts have to go.

I'm getting real close to wanting Botts gone as well. I just find it difficult to accept the unbalanced roster he rolled into the season with in view of how obvious it was to everyone.
On the other hand, IMO, one of the main reasons to keep him is continuity, I'm sick of the cycle involved with starting over. The other reason is he has made a couple of shrewd trades and I like the Mojo signing...those point to his ability to acquire talent when he will have an abundance of moves to make.
