Lol, how does Frolik, a 4th liner at 32 yo fit into the long term here.
Clue: it doesnt.

- IonSabres

Lol

You think frolic finishes the season as a sabre?

Clue - doubt it

He made a move to replace the current injured forwards.

This is a really solid post

You're a true fan.

It's the guys that come in here and post things like:

"I didnt even watch the game "
"I turned it off when...."

- Boss34

Not a chance in hell do I ever shut it off.

If he moves him for anything less than a 4th rounder this place will be unbearable

I turned the game on late...somewhere in the 2nd period, watched for 10 minutes, was boring as hell, turned it off.
Heard on GR they mustered 2 shots in the 2nd.

But, Good news, advanced stats say they increased their shooting percentage significantly by Jack scoring on one of them!

- IonSabres

This is a prime example of a NON LOYAL FAN.

just keep coming in here arguing, but you dont even watch the games.

Fair weather fans are the worst.

He was mentioned as a strong candidate earlier in the week.

Curious as to why Teerlinck left the pros for college.

- Powerslave

"I have the utmost respect for Coach Fuente and the staff he's put together at Virginia Tech," Teerlinck said. "I love teaching the game and helping players reach their full potential. I've always thought that if the right opportunity came along that I'd enjoy getting back into college football. Clearly, the chance to rejoin Coach Fuente at a place with a such a long winning tradition and defensive excellence like Virginia Tech was the perfect fit. I can't wait to get my family to Blacksburg and get to work."

The Frolik trade was to get a body in here up front because he needed one. If even Tage Thompson were healthy, I don't think that trade is made. The only other option is Mittlestadt, and he just got sent down, so they're not going to mess with that. This are plenty of criticisms of the job Botterill has done if you want to go down that road. This isn't one of them.
- buffalofan19

It's just pointless and the timing is so odd. Maybe he started trade talks in June and just got it done. Like I said, maybe useful 4 months ago, but just totally pointless now. It's just one more thing that convinces me he is totally lost

He could, because having him here allows them to move other guys. It's easier to move a Sheary, Larsson or Girgs knowing you have Frolik here. It's not unreasonable to think one of those guys may have more value depending on a team's need and salary situation.

They want him here to improve the PK. Unless this team goes into a serious tail-spin, I don't see him getting flipped.

They may even want him here next year at half his contract.

4 months ago we didn't have 4 wingers on IR. If he traded Scandella for Frolik one for one would he still be "totally lost"? 4 months ago it could have been considered pointless.

😀

I plan my schedule around hockey. My kids and the Sabres.

I feel bad not going to the games. Fear of missing out.

Especially with eichel. Anything can happen.
He's lots of fun to watch. Worth the price of admission.

All I can say is that most of the rationalization for Botterill not doing anything was that he only wants young RFA guys. Then he does the opposite after the season was lost and everyone goes "it's good that he did that, it's real good." Because we were all clamoring for a bottom 6 winger as much as another RHD
