The Cleveland Browns have narrowed their head coaching search down to the final three candidates, with Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll making the cut as one of the finalists.

Daboll is one of three current offensive coordinators on the team’s short list of preferred candidates to replace Freddie Kitchens, who was fired on Dec. 29th after going 6-10 in his one season and extending the Browns’ playoff drought to 17 seasons.

Daboll joins New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and Minnesota Vikings’ offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski atop the Browns list of candidates.

Josh McDaniels returns to Boston and almost immediately 2 names linked to him get jobs elsewhere. Coincidence? #Browns

Gerbs likes Raymond. Pegs likes Rossi among others. And I assume Botts has his heart set on Drysdale. So since it’s after New Years, it’s time for me to do some cursory research into the projected top ten and form a slightly, barely informed opinion.

The Sabres will be good when they hit on draft picks.

The end.

You can’t trade your way to a deep team that’s cap compliant

Lafreniere is by far the most skilled and best prospect. He will be a star on Eichel and Matthews level. There are a lot of good players after that, this looks like a good draft.

The Canuck at the end was the last one. I knew who it was, but blanked for a good 30 seconds before finally remembering.

If we get one you take Lafreniere
If you get two you take Byfield

After that though it’s anyone’s guess.

Rossi is putting up the best PPG in the OHL since McDavid.

Raymond has been struggling to find ice time playing for Frolunda’s men’s team but he might of had the best U18 Hlinka tournament I’ve ever seen in my life time and looks like an elite talent but he may take a few years.

Holtz is going to score a lot of goals in the NHL, also doing well in the SHL this year and some scouts are starting to put him in front of Raymond.

Stutzle is having a stellar year in the DEL in Germany and has intriguing size and speed. Another player who can beat you with playmaking and a great shot.

Ever since getting cut from Team Canada, Cole Perfetti is a man on a mission playing for Saginaw in the OHL. He earned himself the nick name “Goal Perfetti” last year but what’s been more impressive this year is that he has more assists then goals and is rounding out his game.

Anton Lundell didn’t get to play for Finland at the WJC but has 15 points in his last 16 Liiga games. He plays the middle of the ice and is known as a strong 200 ft player.

I guess the silver lining this year is that it is a really good year to suck.

Oh man. Thanks for all this! Great starting point. Pessimist in me doesn’t let me think about getting one or two. But it does sound like there’s some intriguing players out there.

I’d love another 1st, but it’d most likely take shipping out Sam.

Botts fired yet? What a joke he is. Might be worse than Murray at this point.

Murray:

Eichel
Reinhart
Oreilly
Bust in Nylander
Horrible contract in Okposo

Botts:
dahlin
Maybe cozens??
Bust in Mitts
Horrible contract in Skinner

Why are we giving this guy another shot at a draft and offseason??
