Yeah because the Backchecking has been immaculate right? The total team defense is horrible.
- Therat36

Not saying it was a great defensive game, it certainly wasn't. Don't think this was a matter of Hutton getting hung out to dry. Didn't get a big save out of him all day.

Let's break it down:

They are missing 2 top 6 forwards due to injury

They do not have a 2nd line center

Their 3rd line winger is being outscored by a goalie

Their backup goaltender hasn't won a game since October

Their starting goaltender cannot handle the workload of a starter

They have 97 defensemen and none of them are playing the role they should be

Well guys. I've officially hit that point where I'm done putting a game in front of other plans. 9 straight years of doing that with no regrets. They've NEVER turned it around and snuck into the playoffs...

I'm at a loss. I don't see how this franchise turns it around in a timely manner. We have ZERO players that can be used in a big trade.

8th xGA for the season. This isn't a bad defensive team.

Even without a 2C this team is fighting for a wild card spot with average NHL goaltending and half decent special teams.

3. fire botts, keep kruger

I would be interested in the results if this was sent as a poll to season ticket holders

Hate to say it but I stopped watching this Team. It’s a waste of my time and not worth the angst. I still follow them through updates but they’re worth the 2.5 hours plus. Instead went on a long run and now watching my son in a tennis match. Before you say good riddance, I started going to games in the aud in 1972 as a 3 year with my Dad and Gramps. 3rd row from the top of the oranges. I have no patience for a heartless team

Fitz, c'mon man.
At some point, don't you think taking off the rose colored glasses is warranted. I get your "long view" attitude, and you are to be commended for it.
Yet, by now even you have to admit Jason has made his share of mistakes with the roster construction.
Nobody is saying they should be SC contenders...but not having a 2C, 2RW, 3RW for 2 seasons, then rolling into this season with 12 NHL
Dmen (yup 2 were on IR to start) and 6 LWers is nothing short of crazy.

Now he is hoping that a rookie can step into a top 6 position and be a savior on some level.

The high level of optimism just isn't warranted anymore...not until we see the proof in the pudding

I was in the last row of Oranges, center ice.
Paul Wieland was on my paper route and got my brother and I season tickets in the mid portion of their 1st season. He still has season..I used to buy 10-12 games from him and go to 2-3 others with him up u till I left Buffalo 3 years ago.

But, I'm told by some hot head that I'm a disloyal fan.

I too have reached the point where I will not put watching games as the priority. If I’m on spinner, and game is on, I’ll watch. I check in here daily, will continue to. And will follow. But I’ve stopped travelling to buffalo annually for a weekend trip from Ottawa - just not willing to shell the coin with the heartless product on the ice. Anyhow, go Niners

Do the last two losses mean botts isn’t going to bring any more help in for the team?

Now that the bills season is over, will the Pegula’s maybe pay attention to the Sabres?

Will anything change before the end of the season or top 5 pick here we come?

I just wanted them to be fun to watch and be in the playoff discussion. They haven’t been fun to watch and while not mathematically eliminated for the playoffs... they are showing no reason to be in the discussion.

No, I fully expect the next GM, Botts or not, to construct a more reasonable roster for 2020-2021.

Edit: while he is behind his self defined curve, if he starts now he could just get a trade done at the TDL...next year.

Reacting =/= overreacting

Team has sucked every year under this GM. He fired a coach because he thought his roster was good.

It's not. People are reacting to a continually poopty product. Not overreacting
