It's odd considering both Rochester and Cincinnati don't play till Friday. Hammond played last night. Maybe an injury?

Maybe Hutton really is injured.

Maybe he is after all. That would mean JoJo or Hammond has to head to Detroit. Still strange when either team doesn't play till Friday.

Not sure.

Just saw the news on UPL.

Hutton traded? šŸ˜‚

- Powerslave

He seems to be a good teammate, so in that regard it would be a loss.
That said, his performance hasn't been great, so if they can upgrade, I'm all for it.

ā€œTo kind of confirm some numbers to myself, I looked at how the Sabres rank in high-danger chances and goals against per 60 minutes.

They're 6th best in HDCA/60 at 9.52

They're tied for 10th worst in HDGA/60 with 1.52ā€

In plain English, we are one of the best teams in the NHL at limiting dangerous scoring opportunities yet our goalies canā€™t stop anything.

It's been a struggle lately for not only the goalies but the entire team. That was a bad loss last night.

Let's Go Amerks speculates that 6K callup was just part of the development process and planned all along. So He's gonna be in Rochester all week just to practice? The plan has to be that he starts Friday against Cleveland.

The goaltending is not good. At times Ullmark looks good and then the bottom falls out. Hutton is just awful. They need to change it next year.

I think it is just their 6K plan and he's there to play. His development is their top priority in net and Johansson is a distant second.

I donā€™t think the work load helps. There arenā€™t many goalies in the NHL that play 14 of their teams last 15 games that arenā€™t considered one of the best in the league.

Ullmark would be a fine backup. Give him 25-30 games and Iā€™m fine with him.

This team has two glaring holes. 2C and #1 goalie, which also happen to be the two hardest positions to find.

Hutton is under contract for next year and Ullmark is an RFA. Do you think the Sabres will change anything in net next year?

And 2rw.

But I thought 1c and 1rd were the hardest positions to find....

Think I'd switch that to just a #1D. Our current D + prospects project very well into the future. Our top prospects are C's and a G. It does bode well for the future. Don't want to distract from the doom and gloom though.

I would think that would be one of Cozens, Thompson, Mojo (once we find a Center to move him back to wing)

I donā€™t think any part of this 8 year process was easy in order to obtain our 1C and 1D wouldnā€™t you agree ?

I would definitely bring Ullmark back, heā€™s proven to be a reputable NHL backup.

Hutton needs to be blasted into the sun though.

Botts doesn't blast anyone into the sun, though. He's considered an "asset", a "good locker room guy", and he's under contract. UPL most likely won't be ready to start in the NHL to begin next season. So its hard not to feel like we're stuck with Carter the Hutt.

"THE ATHLETIC: Jesse Granger reports league sources are claiming the Vegas Golden Knights are shopping around for a top-four defenseman to take some pressure off Nate Schmidt and Shea Theodore. Given their limited salary-cap space, Granger believes itā€™ll have to be a dollar-for-dollar swap. He feels a deal could happen at any time between now and the Feb. 24 trade deadline."

Send them Bogo, McCabe and a 2nd for Eakin and Tuch. Salaries are pretty even.

Last 2 games ge played 6.00 GAA for the most part, played like a statue, sounds about right.

This organization is disgusting. What a joke.

Hutton was brought in to tank. Only one more tank year to go after this current tank year ends.

Then, things can get slightly less tanky. From tanky to crappy, crappy to stinky, stinky to mediocrity, mediocrity to meh, meh to average, average to alright...etc. It's a long process.

Is there any concrete proof from a legit media source that says the owner is ā€œmeddlingā€ with the team?
When the team constantly underperforms night in and out, thatā€™s the gms fault, not the owner.

Done!
Love it.
In fact, keep the 2nd, hold salary to enable their choice of Vesey, Sheary or Rrod to be added
