Loved Kassian obliterating Tkachuck, frigging punk mitch little wanker
- BeadyEyedDouche

Wasn't thrilled with how it went down, but if that's the game Tkachuk wants to play he better be prepared and willing to throw down when someone has had enough

It’s not reasonable to say GMTM & Botts are in the same class
You have t been reasonable in your assessment of Botts for a long time now

I never said that. GMTM is a worse GM than Jason Botterill. I will be very clear about that.

I also think a lot of the defense of Jason Botterill rests on "He's not Tim Murray," and that needs to be done. Just being "not the worst GM in Sabres history" is not a reason to continue to employ him

This is the worst excuse I see for Botts defenders. This is totally on Botts. There is zero concrete evidence he was forced to trade him. Some assumption that once he would be traded he had to do it right away to not pay bonus, again just an assumption.

Why do we give Botts a pass because of Pegula , give him another pass for inheriting Murray’s prospects when Murray’s was also meddled with. Botts accepted the poop return for Oreilly. He could of got a usable piece ready now.

I just don’t get it.

- Fattony1187

Hmmmm...
so even though we have multiple insiders here that have said Botts was forced to trade ROR,
that’s us making assumptions

Yet YOU feel comfortable making an assumption Botts could’ve made a better trade with absolutely ZERO evidence whatsoever

Funny how u have a double standard here

I'd take both on my team though.
Not many want to screw with Kassian...the liberties with Eichel and Dahlin would end.
Love me some Tkachuk

100%

If you could get me those two on this roster keeping Eichel and Dahlin the Sabres would be in a much better shape.

Kassian seemed to figure it out.

He isn't this big time answer to what Lucic was but he has found his niche and he isn't a slouch in the scoring department either

I don’t think anyone is saying that
I think you’re going overboard with that point,
and many others about Botts & how ppl here view him

I think a lot if it is frustration at the recent skid (that happened when we started losing people to injuries) and the 13 D men they have.

It hasn't been a fun time in Sabreland in the last decade so they want to see this team be good again (who doesn't)

But I agree many people are going overboard on Botts and Ralph

Idk
Kassian is still just a banger that’s benefiting from playing on McDavid’s wing
If he was here, we’d be lucky if he was “Foligno”
Unless we play him with Jack
But he’s really just a 3rd line talent

I'd take him over who is playing on the 3rd line these days

The fact that he is playing on McDavid's wing and not slowing down the production of that line says a lot IMO

Just for poops

Olo Eichel Kassian
Skinner Reinhart Tkachuk

That's a top 6 that could be scary if Reinhart could be a full time center

I get their frustration
But it’s also obnoxious to have to see these overboard posts day after day after day

Especially in posts like fattony’s where he call out something commonly held to be true as unsubstantiated,
then goes on to make the same type statement himself

I don't know.
I have full faith in Botts driving this roster down quite a bit before seasons end...which he should be a seller of all but 10sh pieces.

1 Sabres loss coupled with 1 win by 5 teams drives them down 5 spots...it's that tight.

Sure, but how different is that from acquiring Sheary for example?
He was playing well with Jack till bumped off the line, now he’s just a guy
That’s how i feel about Kassian

Not to mention,
he’s fitting in well with the Oilers. So i doubt he’s moved.
And there’s even less of a chance Thachuk is moved

It happens many times a day.

It's fine that Botterill traded a 1st, because Tim Murray traded multiple firsts.

It's fine that he traded a pair of 3rds for Vesey and Beaulieu because GMTM traded a pair of 2nds and McNabb for Fasching and Dlo

It's fine that Minnesota got the most useful player in the pominville/scandella trade (foligno) because Murray left us with no d men

It's fine that he traded a 2nd a 5th for miller because TM traded a 2nd for Gorges.

I could go on

Most of his bungles are forgiven because they're not as bad of bungles as the bungle king Tim Murray

Neither guy is getting moved

Just for poops was just thinking

Sheary was okay with Eichel but he wasn't the answer

I think he keeps his job if they finish in the 15th to 20th range. They'll get Olofsson and Skinner back and be just good enough to outpace some of these other teams

That’s how I’d feel about Kassian
Could use the toughness, and I’m sure his numbers would be decent if he played with Jack
But if he was playing on line3,
I don’t think he’d be anything more than Foligno was
Which was a decent player, but replaceable as well
