The way I see it, you just want to make the playoffs and pray for a miracle.
Others here want to build a contender that will be a threat to win the Cup year after year.

I’m not a Biggie fan
But he’s commonly held to being one of the best hip hop artists of all time

And of u wanna challenge why a hip hop artist is in the Rock n Roll hall of fame,
then you’re gonna have to do that for all the artists from different genres that aren’t “Rock”

Or just accept that calling it the Rock & Roll hall of fame sounds better than the music hall of fame,
and that all different genres will be considered

- jdfitz77

People have been having that debate probably since Madonna got inducted.

I used to be perplexed by it, but now I just don't care.

Wrong on all points, he has no business there, old time R&B from the 50's -70's is one thing, rap is another. Has no business there, none and neither does B.I.G..

Idk?
But there’s been artists making it into the RnR hof from different generals of music besides “rock” for quite a while now

Is it really a joke to include other genres of music?
Especially since so many artists now a days are blending genres together in their own style...

- jdfitz77

Should Tom Brady be in the Hockey hall of fame? I once saw him at a Bruins game. If the answer is no, then you have your answer. There has been questionable nominees for years, and I believe that is what 89 was referring to. I understand some of the older people that may not have been considered R & R, but could be considered builders or influencers. I do not see any influence Whitney Houston has had on any rock band.

Except on this situation, Cozens is gone!
Did u miss that?

- jdfitz77

Wasn't talking about the specific Ryjo proposal. I originally said No 120 pages ago.
Back to the current situation...fixing it for the next 4+ years. Not for a run to 8th.

I though Botts had a busy summer last year, which he did.
He better get Randy up to speed here as he is going to have 3x the amount of work to get done.

I know you asked 89, but my opinion is none. It's the Rock and Roll hall of fame.
- adambuffalo

Should James Taylor be in?
Aretha Franklin?
Simon & Garfunkel?
Johnny Cash?

And on, and on, and on...

"Rock 'N Roll" is pretty much dead. Yes, there are still rock bands, but the ones I would actually call rock arent really popular. The most popular "rock" band right now is probably Imagine Dragons. And whether they are truly rock is definitely debatable (I think they suck fwiw).

What I'm saying is the HOF has to adapt to the times to continue to draw people in.

I think you're right, by the way, Biggie is not a rock artist. But there's money at stake for the HOF and Biggie is an icon and certainly a first ballot "music hall of fame"

Johnny Cash, well enough said
James Taylor, soft rock some say.
Simon and Garfunkel are more rock then rap is.

Weren't in it trying to rush the rebuild, either, when we had "those who shall not be named" on this roster.

And that’s all good
RyJo isn’t the “fix” we need to become contenders though
And not at the price of Cozens
That’s what’s been debated

And u posting guys like Bonino & Eller as 2Cs is just nuts when we are all if about what Botts supposedly could’ve done

That's what I mean. Name a popular rock group right now. Muse? If the HOF only inducted rock, right now they would have bands to choose from that the public at large doesn't give a poop about.

To quote a biggie song: "it's all about the benjamins"

Definitely true for the HOF

So again... why some genres & not others?

And James Taylor and Simon & Garfunkel are more “Folk” than “Rock”

Johnny Cash was NOWHERE NEAR “Rock”
And I’m a Johnny Cash fan

Neither or R&B, or Soul, or Blues, or Jazz, or Funk, or “Folk” and so forth

Kinda sounds like u just don’t like rap 89

U can’t argue to keep one genre out & not the rest
Makes no sense
