We can keep blaming coaches and GM'S, but the players caved in, they have caved in for years.
- Buff36

Time to put blame at the top where it belongs.... the owner hires inexperienced people, won’t put someone with experience above the inexperienced to help. That inexperience has had no vision through 2 gms now.

I thought botts had a little vision, but the mitts, tage development debacle along with the 47 d men, ignoring of roster deficiencies and signing of dalton smith have notified me that botts vision has run out.

You can say the players gave up, caved, but I think it’s a much more fundamental problem and it starts and stops with ownership....

it starts at the top

if the coach focuses on good work ethic, it trickles down

instead we run the same pp as week 1, and wonder why it's sliding

I mean when you focus on eichel and dahlin tapping it to olofsson for the shot, it's easy to defend

if you allow lazy plays game after game, time after time, with no accountability

nothing will change

it's a losing culture, and there has been nothing really done to change that over the last 225 games

- homiedclown

Yes it starts at the top, but what makes you think that there is no work ethic being brought by the coaches. And it might help the power play if players actually hit the net with there shots, I think I saw atleast 7 shots miss the net on there PP, or players not shooting when they should. Lazy plays go on the players, not the coach, and if there was any organizational depth in the system to actually make these players think they could lose there spot that might help.

Is it time for Pegula to sell? Or maybe get Kim outta there and hire an experienced hockey guy to run it who Botts reports to?

Botts vision is to rebuild a Franchise devoid of depth and talent after years of bad drafting and trades. Yes we all think he should have done things differently and brought in different players at certain positions. I don't know what the problem is, but this Franchise has been a poop storm for a decade

I don’t think he needs to sell. Just stop being the Cleveland Browns owner. Hire people to do the job. Let Kim do all the game day event stuff she wants. But she doesn’t need to be the alt governor of the team, let your hockey ops president do that. And let them evaluate the organization from top to bottom. If they keep botts great! Give him some direction, like maybe move a d man... But Kim needs to step back and they need to stop being owner-super fans and hire a hockey person to run hockey things. Because clearly, hiring first time gm’s with Kim above them ain’t gonna work!

he said fast, upbeat north south game built around quick outlet passes

instead it's dump and chase
soft perimeter team and try to keep the score respectable

you have dahlin risto, joker, pilut, miller, montour

all the makings to play that game, yet they don't

yup single out 3 guys for 16 guys sucking

makes perfect sense

just like dressing 7 d men most nights

or dressing a goon and only playing him 1.26 minutes, thus short benched all game

I mean we were in essence down 2 bodies for 1/3 of the game

No one around botts with experience to lean on or even bounce ideas off of. It’s Kim Pegula above him and she is “still learning”. Hire a hockey guy and install them above botts. It could be a pretty easy relationship. Hey Jason, why haven’t we sent tage or mitts to Rochester? Hey Jason do you really want to start the season with 10 d men? Maybe you should move one by the end of October....

That's a big problem Homie, I am 55 and was brought up a different way, and sometimes thay was with a leather belt or wooden spoon, teach you responsibility and it takes hard work to get by in life. This generation is a totally different ball game, they want everything handed to them

I wasn’t able to open the article but it’s what the organization needs. Hell I’ll put Lindy in that position yesterday! I know I’m a Lindy homer... but at least he’s a respected hockey guy that knows the game and would easily hold botts accountable. I don’t really care who it is, as long as they know hockey...

Attention JCRAGS:

Solid work as usual by #Sabres game pres staff to spotlight ERod on the jumbotron as he's standing around in warmup not taking line rushes and two hours after his trade request surfaces. Way to have a feel for what's going on. Gotta finish the year strong.

Happy new year.

It just keeps getting worse. Erod doesnt score a goal all season, requests a trade and now: displays his true colors as a bad teammate.

Could you please compare bogo and erod in your own words. This seems worse then bogo....who you killed in weeks worth of postings.

You missed a good game last night. Dalton Smith was all over the place. ERod was pouting. And McCabe got punched out. Wrapped up 2019 in style.

You missed the point ...

("winter" classic) should never be in a warm area .
