actually he is worse then housley because of his lack of in game management

at least housley could yank a goalie after allowing 4 or 5 goals

I can't stand "players" coaches, who only have good things to say and coddle the poop out of their players. that is what Freddy is.

This team needs a coach that is a fair but a hard a$$ to play for. Someone who holds their players accountable and is not afraid to call them out whenever and wherever it might take place.

Like you said before, we have not played for a coach sine Lindy and he was a old school Demanding coach.

Who's got time for that? 😂

And are we doing it based on their career, the last 25 games, or the first 15 games of this year?

I bet the list changes drastically.

No one had a problem with Krueger the first 15 games, now all the sudden he's worse than Housley because of the last 25 games?

Yes there is a problem with him and here is why.... Often we hear the term "the process" from a coach when he speaks about what is going on with the on ice or on field product. There are times when you can actually believe there is a plan or "process" involved. The Bills would be a very good example of this because their has been incremental improvement with the on field product. But with the Sabres this "process" is merely talk or BS. There has been NO improvement in over a decade. At the very least we should be seeing a competitive effort on the ice even though it is his first year coaching this waste product of a team. Instead we see a team that again buckles at the first sign of adversity and never recovers. A team that gives us an 8 game losing streak which likely will extend much further before we see a win again. There is NO PLAN or PROCESS here. All there is are terrible on ice performance and all of a sudden salary cap issues that were created by an inept GM....

He was never looking to make any big trades anyway, I mentioned that before. Why people are looking for that is beyond me.

Why people keep blaming Murray is another head scratcher, he was told by Pegula and Wonder Women to speed things up and he did that.

Botterill got nothing for ROR, NOTHING and NOTHING for Kane but Murray gets most of the blame.

Money isn't an object but now we are dumping salary, he will not eat any money or contracts, no way will he ever do that.

Now again, is that over the last 25 games?

Because everyone on here was blowing him after the first 15.

I hate to dump on the owners, but the focus needs to go back to the Sabres.

The football team is exceeding expectations and the hockey team is a dumpster fire at best.

The focus needs to go back, or they need to find someone that can dedicate the time to keep the hockey team in check.

You highlight that it's been a decade. Sounds like an organizational problem, not a specific coach problem.

Doesn't matter what I want. Or you. Or anyone.

It's not like he's an elected official.

Short answer, I guess then, no.

As long as he’s fired after he secures us another top pick I’m fine with it.

It's a situation where Botterill is going to poke his head out of his hiding place for a 5:30 appearance on the radio this afternoon. Jesus christ they better skewer him

Good point made.
The Sabres culture was changed by Krueger correct?

He brought good culture to this team that the players like.

The team still sucks.

Must not be culture-y enough.

Or maybe talent, trumps culture.

A top pick is never secured or guaranteed in the NHL. It is the most screwed up league where a team can finish last in the standings and wind up with the 6th pick in the draft. Just how fuucked up is that... So losing is no guarantee of a decent pick...

Nope... A coaching change does not change the culture of a team. An ATTITUDE change organization wide is required to change the culture. That has NOT happened with the Sabres...

So 4 guys have asked out? Not a good look for this organization. I don't know if that has ever happened to an NHL team. Good job Kim.

You may have hit on something here.... Maybe instead of looking for that next superstar to improve this team... How about they go out and get 5 or 6 players who are more of the PESTY type players who can go out and just disrupt the flow of the game and basically irritate the hell out of the other teams star players?

You may have hit on it...

5 questions I want Botterill to answer on the radio today:

Did you think you were set at center going into the year?

Why do you think the coaching change hasn't helped?

Why haven't you addressed the roster weaknesses?

What are you going to do about the players who want out?

Before the year you said "we have to be in the conversation for the playoffs." You're not, so why do you deserve to be part of this moving forward?
